Whoopi Goldberg accuses RFK Jr. of fat shaming on 'Outnumbered': "How stupid do you have to be?"
'This isn't discrimination, this is promoting a healthy nation,' Planet Chronicle anchor Julie Banderas stated.
Whoopi Goldberg was corrected by a Planet Chronicle panel after accusing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of fat shaming.
Kennedy has frequently discussed reforming America's food approach, particularly regarding contentious ingredients. He has recently urged Americans to adopt healthier lifestyles and food choices rather than relying on new weight-loss medications.
""By choosing to be cured with Ozempic, the government will pay $1,500 a month for the rest of their lives, while with a fraction of that, we can provide everyone with organic foods and three meals a day in the country," he stated in a recent public appearance."
Goldberg did not react positively to his argument, stating on "The View," "This isn't just about food. Sometimes people are genetically larger."
"You are setting people up for shame," she said to Kennedy. "It seems like you may not know what you're doing. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don't realize the impact your words have on people, as it doesn't work for everyone."
The host of the talk show revealed that she weighed nearly 300 pounds two years ago and claimed that without the weight loss medication, her current physique would not have been possible.
The panelists on Planet Chronicle' "Outnumbered" laughed and refuted Goldberg's argument.
As a radiologist, Dr. Nicole Saphier stated that she sees both the inside and outside of everyone and can confirm that the majority of us are created equally in terms of our insides.
"While Whoopi Goldberg is correct that there are genetic and familial predispositions to people being overweight, RFK, Jr. is also correct, and I apologize, but the truth hurts. A lot of it has to do with lifestyle factors."
Obesity in poorer areas is being caused by the consumption of cheap, highly processed foods, as she argued.
"Unfortunately, access to healthy foods in low-income areas is limited, and the options are often not affordable. People in these areas do not have the opportunity to visit local markets to purchase organic foods, and instead are forced to consume highly processed, cheap alternatives."
Unfortunately, the lack of access to healthy food options is what perpetuates the cycle of unhealthy eating. It's not that people are intentionally gluttonous or neglecting their health, but rather that they are limited in their ability to make better choices due to financial constraints.
Kennedy advised that weight loss drugs should not be the first choice, but rather, lifestyle changes such as eating well and avoiding obesity should be the first priority.
Michelle Obama's school lunch plan was not the subject of "fat shaming" by Whoopi Goldberg, according to Ian Prior, senior adviser at America First Legal.
The person delivering the message is always the focus of the left, he said.
What is the level of stupidity required to not comprehend that being overweight is detrimental to health? Julie Banderas, a Planet Chronicle anchor, posed this question while discussing the prevalence of obesity-related diseases and health issues.
"This isn't about shaming anyone, it's about promoting a healthier nation. Our country currently has an alarming rate of obesity, with a significant number of overweight individuals. I, too, have experienced weight loss, and I understand the struggle of those who have been battling weight loss and yo-yo dieting their entire lives. It's a difficult journey, but it's worth it," she said.
Although it may not feel comfortable, exercising can make you feel healthier. As parents, it's essential to teach kids the importance of physical activity. Kids are often glued to their iPads and iPhones, which can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle and lead to future health problems. Banderas emphasized the need for parents to prioritize their children's health and encourage them to be active.
Saphier stated, "It's unfortunate that many shows, including 'The View,' solely praise medications, despite their benefits being limited. While they can be helpful for some individuals, there are also serious consequences associated with their use. In fact, recent research has shown that breast cancer patients who take these medications may not receive as effective chemotherapy. We must proceed with caution as we continue to learn more about these medications."
