White House press secretary anticipates confrontational journalists during press conferences: "We're ready for it"
The youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history will be Leavitt.
As the president's lead representative to the media, incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt anticipates facing opposition when she begins her service in the Trump administration.
Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he served as White House press secretary from 1969-1974, will be replaced by Leitt, 27, who will become the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history.
"We hope for decorum and will strive to instill it," Leavitt stated when asked about mistreatment from reporters. "We're not afraid of hostile media. We've dealt with it during the campaign for the past year."
"During his presidency, Donald Trump was the most transparent president in American history, and he continued to advocate for a free and fair press on the campaign trail, despite the media's hostility and inaccuracies."
During the campaign, Leivitt, who served as Trump's spokesperson, stated that she is open to challenging conventional media arrangements in the White House briefing room.
She stated that they would examine possibilities to honor the White House's tradition while also updating the press briefing room to reflect modern media practices in the United States.
"Leavitt stated that different voices and rules may be incorporated into the press briefing room, and their ultimate goal is to serve the American people and convey President Trump's message to them."
Trump was the most transparent president in history, according to Leavitt, particularly during his first administration in terms of his interactions with the press.
"President Trump's interactions with the media are unparalleled, according to Leavitt. Our objective is to communicate his America First message and the groundbreaking policies he will introduce to the American public in the most efficient manner possible."
