What political analysts have to say about the presidential choices made by 'Home Alone' mom Kate McCallister.
Podcast host Josh Barro stated that Clinton and Biden were voted R in every election until 2016.
According to some X users, Kate McCallister, the matriarch of the "Home Alone" films, likely took time to vote in presidential elections despite spending most of her time searching for her son Kevin.
In the iconic 1990s Christmas movies "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," Catherine O'Hara's character, McCallister, famously misplaced her son not once, but twice.
A political analyst responded to a picture of a character with the prompt, "Who did she vote for in the last 8 elections?" with amusing and mixed responses.
She was assumed to vote Republican and was expected to continue doing so in the 2024 election.
"Josh Barro predicted that the podcast host voted R in every election until 2016, then switched to Clinton and Biden. Currently, she votes D for Congress, but she is still registered R and believes that Democrats are responsible for Chicago's decline and waste of taxpayer money. She hopes that Haley will be nominated so she won't have to vote for Biden again."
Nick Lindquist, a freelance writer, agreed that the individual is a big fan of Reagan because she attended school for business administration during that time. She voted for Republicans until 2016, when she wrote in Carly Fiorina. In 2020, she voted for Biden, and now she is a fan of Nikki Haley.
Others were sure she's a Democratic voter.
CNN investigative reporter Andy Kaczynski stated that this individual is an Obama-Youngkin voter.
Jake Wilkins of Axios wrote that the presidential candidates in the 2016 election were all from the same political dynasty: the Bushes and Clintons.
Some film fans joked that Mrs. McCallister's questionable skills as a mother would make it unlikely for her to vote.
John Podhoretz, a New York Post columnist, stated that she died in prison after being arrested, charged, and tried for horrific child neglect. He believes she probably voted for Jim Thompson, and nobody else.
Ursula Perano, a Politico Congress reporter, joked that she couldn't remember her child and wouldn't be voting.
Over three decades, the "Home Alone" films continue to be beloved holiday viewing options. Recently, O'Hara and her former on-screen son Macauley Culkin reunited as the latter received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In her introduction of the actor, O'Hara couldn't resist poking fun at her character.
"Congratulations, Macaulay! You truly deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Thank you for inviting me, your fake mom who left you home alone twice, to be a part of this joyous occasion. I am so proud of you."
