UFC champ Tito Ortiz criticizes Biden's efforts to win over Latino voters: "Pandering at its worst"
The border crisis is not Biden's fault, says the Mexican-American mixed martial arts fighter.
On "Jesse Watters Primetime," retired UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz challenged President Biden's efforts to rally over Latino voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
"Embarrassing pandering at its worst," said Ortiz, former mayor pro tempore of Huntington Beach, Calif., to Watters. "I've witnessed this for the past three-and-a-half years and it's just too much. How much more can our country take before people take a stand?"
"My Latino friends and those waiting in line to cross the border are no longer just Mexicans; they are individuals from various countries."
If individuals don't "stand up and make their votes be heard," Ortiz is unsure what will happen to America, as he expressed concern for the country's current situation and cautioned against complacency.
"As a blue-collar man with three sons, I feel the responsibility to stand tall and make my voice heard for their future," Ortiz stated.
In 2020, Ortiz, a former California business owner who once managed five establishments, lost everything. After this setback, the former UFC fighter relocated to Florida and opened Tito's Cantina Tequila Bar & Grille in Cape Coral to "redo the American Dream."
The former UFC star voiced his support for Donald Trump's 2024 presidential bid and explained why he's honored to have the ex-president on his team.
"Since 2000, I have known Donald Trump and have had various experiences with him, including fighting at his casino, working on "Celebrity Apprentice," and observing his character as a businessman, father, and patriot. As a result, I have great respect for him and will support him until he is no longer in office."
He added, "I believe many Latinos share my sentiment because they migrate to this country to uphold our faith, maintain our families, and secure our freedoms."
Biden's policies and legislation are to blame for the U.S. southern border being in "shambles," according to Ortiz.
"Across the border in Texas, Arizona, and California, you can see the chaos that the Border Patrol is unable to control due to the legislation and policies of the Biden administration."
Ortiz stated that this country cannot lose these things, and if we do, there's no turning back. People need to understand now that it's our time to take back America because we cannot lose it.
"To ensure a better future for our children and all those who wish to enter the country legally, it is crucial to recognize that the issue of illegal immigration is not limited to Mexicans. People must understand the dangers of child trafficking and the drugs that are being smuggled across the border. The cartels are responsible for these actions, which go against the values of American society."
"Ortiz emphasized the importance of unity in order to "make America great again.""
The Latino population is a crucial demographic for candidates in the 2024 presidential election, as it continues to grow and its traditional affiliation with the Democrats has become less certain.
This week, President Biden campaigned in Nevada, Arizona, and Texas to rally Latino voters.
In 2020, Trump received 38% of the Hispanic vote while Biden garnered 59%, as per Pew Research.
Earlier this month, a New York Times/Siena College poll revealed that former President Trump has a six-point advantage over Biden among Hispanic voters.
