UFC 296 judges allegedly showed bias against Colby Covington, resulting in him losing the title, according to Covington.
Leon Edwards has been called for a rematch by Covington after their loss.
At UFC 296, Colby Covington accused the judges of political bias after losing to Leon Edwards in a unanimous decision, with former President Donald Trump watching from the sidelines.
In the post-fight press conference on Sunday, Covington stated that the judges have always been biased against him due to his support for Trump.
"They hate me because I support Trump," he alleged.
On Wednesday, Covington stated on "Jesse Watters Primetime" that he believes judges were biased against him in the title fight because of his political views, resulting in a loss.
In judging positions, during fights or athletic events, they will always stack the deck against us, resulting in a sad time for our country. However, we must rise up as a people and not let this defeat us.
Since receiving criticism, Covington has attributed his loss to the alleged political bias of judges.
Covington informed Watters that he had won on paper with more total strikes and the same amount to the head, and he also had five minutes more control time.
Edwards blocked Covington's first kick, causing him to break his foot in the first 30 seconds of the fight.
Adamantly, the UFC welterweight conveyed to Watters his desire for a rematch against Leon Edwards.
Covington declared, "I deserve it." He added, "I believe I fractured my foot in the initial 30 seconds of the fight when I kicked it on his elbow. As a result, I want a rematch with this individual. I will return stronger. I am like the American people. You know, we never surrender, you can knock us down, but we only learn. We don't lose, we only learn. We will come back stronger," he stated.
Covington has a 17-4-0 record as of press time.
Trump made a cameo at UFC 296, his fourth appearance at a UFC pay-per-view event this year, following UFC 287 in Miami and UFC 290 in Vegas.
