Two GOP senators are confident that Hegseth will be confirmed as SecDef.
Some time next week, a vote on confirmation is anticipated.
Two GOP senators predict that Pete Hegseth will receive confirmation as the next U.S. defense secretary after a heated hearing on Tuesday.
Senators Markwayne Mullin and Tom Cotton discussed their evaluations of Hegseth's potential inclusion in President-elect Trump's Cabinet on "The Ingraham Angle."
"I am confident that Pete will be confirmed and have strong support from all Republicans, both men and women," Mullin stated. "In my opinion, he is the best fit for the job, and President Trump made an excellent choice by selecting him as the next secretary of defense."
Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, was commended by Mullin for supporting Hegseth despite initially expressing doubts about his nomination due to his comments about women in combat and sexual misconduct allegations. Hegseth maintains his innocence.
In a November podcast, the former "Fox & Friends Weekend" co-host stated that the United States should not have women in combat roles.
"The new policy hasn't improved our effectiveness or made us more deadly, but rather made fighting more complex," he stated on the "Shawn Ryan Show."
Before supporting Trump's pick to lead the Pentagon, Ernst, a combat veteran and sexual assault survivor, met with Hegseth multiple times.
Laura Ingraham of Planet Chronicle reported that Cotton believes Hegseth has the necessary support to be confirmed by the Senate, with a vote anticipated in the near future.
Cotton stated that he hopes the Democrats will not hinder or impede the nomination process. If they choose to vote against him, that's their prerogative, but President Trump deserves to have his secretary of defense in place promptly.
The military has been plagued by "political correctness" and "social engineering" that have gone awry.
"We're facing a recruiting crisis due to declining numbers, which has negatively impacted readiness. Our troops don't need to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion training; instead, they need hard, realistic training to prepare for wartime. Pete Hegseth's training approach is effective and should be implemented."
Hegseth was questioned by several Democratic senators about his management of two veteran nonprofit organizations and alleged financial mismanagement during his tenure at Concerned Veterans for America and Veterans for Freedom.
Gary Peters, a senator from Michigan and a Democrat, questioned the veteran about his qualifications and leadership experience.

He remarked that no American board of directors would likely appoint someone with your resume's experience as a CEO.
