Trump visits struggling Florida restaurant, urges customers to support its continuation.
Fox & Friends and the local community assist Harry and the Natives owner
A Florida restaurant owner facing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic received a message of support from former President Trump.
"Trump urged Harry MacArthur, owner of a beloved restaurant, to rally support to save it from the negative impact of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden's economy in a pre-recorded message on "Fox & Friends" on Friday."
"It's crucial to keep the exceptional restaurants open, particularly in Florida. Florida is an incredibly unique and exceptional place, and this restaurant is no exception. Therefore, Harry and the Natives, continue to excel. We adore it, and it will endure for a long time."
On Friday, Steve Doocy co-hosted the show from a packed restaurant in Hobe Sound, as MacArthur had written on Facebook that he would have to shut down the restaurant unless something changed by October 12.
Wyatt set up a GoFundMe for his father, MacArthur, and the community rallied behind him.
MacArthur called the response from Trump and the community "overwhelming."
"Turns out everybody cares," he said.
For 72 years, the restaurant has been a part of the MacArthur family. Although the business was initially managed by his parents, MacArthur reopened it as Harry and the Natives following his father's death in the 1980s.
Despite being on the brink of bankruptcy in 2021, MacArthur's business managed to stay afloat after a "Breakfast with Friends" segment. However, the financial struggles persisted.
Macarthur stated that Fox and Steve Doocy saved them, and they were able to roll for six months. However, the economy continued to decline, and everything else followed.
"Family restaurants are disappearing nationwide."
Inflation and the economy are still the top concerns for voters, with 34% of respondents citing them in a recent poll by 7News/Suffolk University/USA Today. Since the Biden-Harris administration came to power in 2021, prices in Florida have increased by 21.7%.
