Trump's visit to the Bronx sparks excitement among residents, despite frustration with Democrats for 'using and abusing' them.
Residents near AOC's district speak with Rachel Campos-Duffy.
Rachel Campos-Duffy of "Fox & Friends Weekend" spoke with South Bronx residents before former President Trump's visit to the area, as New Yorkers expressed their frustration with the state of the nation under President Biden's leadership.
Residents of the neighborhood where Campos-Duffy toured described Trump as a leader who values the opinions of the "little man" and has shown respect to the Bronx by visiting.
Rev. Ruben Diaz Sr., president of New York's Hispanic Clergy Association, stated that senior citizens are unable to walk down the street, children are being killed, and it is impossible to purchase anything at a grocery store.
"I've always been a Democrat, but I feel like Democrats have taken advantage of us. Trump is giving us a chance to break free from their control."
Despite being a Democratic stronghold, Trump is showing respect to the Bronx by visiting it.
Another voter informed Campos-Duffy that not all registered Democrats are voting for Democrat candidates, and Republicans should be aware of this.
"I am one of the Democrats who hasn't voted Democrat since Ronald Reagan's time."
On Thursday, former President Trump will hold a campaign rally in the Bronx, aiming to turn New York blue into red in the upcoming election, which was unimaginable when he left office in 2021.
On Friday night, Trump's campaign revealed that the upcoming rally will occur at 6 p.m. in Crotona Park, a 127-acre public park situated near the boundary line of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's district. According to the New York Post, the campaign has obtained a permit to accommodate 3,500 attendees in the space.
In the wake of a massive rally led by President Trump that drew over 100,000 supporters in a traditionally Democratic state of New Jersey last week, the move was made.
""We're Americans and we need help with housing. Instead of providing aid to migrants and people from other countries, we should focus on helping our own citizens," one resident stated, confidently predicting that Trump would be warmly embraced by the community."
Another resident expressed his gratitude, stating that he would thank Trump for his actions as president if he had the chance to meet him.
A resident informed Campos-Duffy that the response to his visit would likely be divided, but stated that Trump is a superior choice to re-electing Biden.
"The Bronx has experienced numerous changes, progress was being made, but now everything is deteriorating once more."
The resident advised Trump to inform the public about his plans for benefiting all Americans, not just specific communities, before his visit.
The resident stated that Black and Hispanic individuals are excited about the individual's arrival and desire to explore the available options. Additionally, they expressed the need for Democrats to improve their performance. Republicans have a chance to capitalize on this opportunity, but they must not miss it.
