Trump reacts to ex-chief of staff's label as an "authoritarian" and "general definition of fascist."
In an interview with The New York Times, John Kelly, former chief of staff to Trump, made the remarks.
John Kelly, the former White House chief of staff, was labeled a "total degenerate" by former President Trump after he described his ex-boss as having a fascist mindset and an affinity for Adolf Hitler and dictators.
"Thank you for your support against John Kelly, a degenerate who fabricated a story out of Trump Derangement Syndrome Hatred. Kelly is a lowlife and a bad general whose advice I no longer sought, and I told him to move on."
Earlier this week, The New York Times spoke with Kelly about his concerns regarding Trump's potential return to the White House.
Trump was described as a "fascist" by the outlet, and it was stated that he would govern like a dictator if given the chance.
"Kelly stated that the former president is an authoritarian who admires dictators and falls into the general definition of fascist. He certainly prefers the dictator approach to government."
Respected in military and political circles, retired Marine general Kelly is known in those circles, and Trump's reaction to his remarks should not be unexpected.
"She stated on "Special Report" on Wednesday that he insults anyone who says anything negative about him, even if they are part of his inner circle. This appears to be his standard operating procedure, and unfortunately, his supporters seem to accept it."
Chris Ryan, a talk radio host, stated that Kelly's words have "validity," "substance," and "gravity."
Ryan stated that he believes Kamala Harris's goal is to shift the focus of the race back onto Donald Trump. He noted that her closing argument is simply that she is not Trump and provides more stability than him.
Ret. Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata contended that Kelly's comments, made weeks before Election Day, had a vengeful tone.
Kelly also told the Times that Trump spoke positively of Hitler.
Kelly stated that he made the comment more than once that "Hitler did some good things, too."
Earlier this week, The Atlantic published a story based on the claims of two unnamed individuals that Trump stated he required "the type of generals that Hitler possessed."
Trump campaign adviser Alex Pfeiffer refuted the claims, stating, "This is completely untrue." "President Trump never made such a statement."
Nick Ayers, Mike Pence's former chief of staff, stated on X, previously Twitter, that Kelly's commentary is "patently false."
Ayers wrote that he had refrained from commenting on intra-staff leaks, rumors, or lies related to his time at the White House. However, he felt compelled to respond to General Kelly's remarks about President Trump, which he deemed too excessive to ignore.
