Trump criticizes Project 2025 for its strict abortion restrictions.
Trump admits he is not well-versed in the "extremely conservative" Project 2025 "wish list."
In an exclusive interview on "The Faulkner Focus," former President Trump stated that he does not align with Project 2025's views on abortion.
Trump stated in a recorded interview ahead of his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that he was unaware of the group of extremely conservative individuals who had written a list of things they wanted, many of which he completely disagreed with.
"Their stance on abortion is too extreme. From what I've heard, it's not just a little too far, it's way too far."
Trump praised the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which was achieved after he appointed three new justices during his presidency.
"I successfully repealed Roe v. Wade and returned it to the states, allowing the people to decide on their own."
The Presidential Transition Project, launched in April 2023, is a blueprint for the future Republican administration to restructure many parts of the U.S. government.
Reuters reports that Project 2025 suggests banning the mailing of abortion pills across state borders.
Danielle Alvarez, a Trump campaign spokesperson, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that only Agenda 47 and President Trump's RNC Platform are the policies that have been endorsed by the president for a second term.
"The DNC and Team Biden are resorting to lying and fear-mongering because they lack any substantial proposals to benefit the American people. This is the same group that deceived Americans about Joe Biden's cognitive abilities and concealed his decline for years."
Despite Trump's denial, Democrats have accused the project of trying to make radical changes to government staffing, abortion, taxes, drug prices, and other issues, which they claim Trump is connected to, in the days following Biden's disastrous debate.
Since June 27, the date of the debate, the Biden campaign X account has posted about Project 2025 over 100 times, including clips of Democrats and media personalities attacking it.
Trump previously stated on Truth Social that he was unaware of the individuals behind the initiative that provides suggestions for a future Republican president to implement conservative policies upon taking office.
"I am not familiar with Project 2025 and do not know who is responsible for it. I disagree with some of their statements and find them to be unreasonable and unacceptable. Although I wish them success, I have no involvement in their activities."
