Trump 2024 Person of the Year: Time Magazine's Report
Elon Musk and Joe Rogan were also in the running for the prestigious Time magazine award.
It is predicted that Donald Trump, the president-elect, will once again be recognized as Time magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2024, making it the second time he has received this prestigious accolade.
On Wednesday, Politico reported that Trump plans to reveal his photo on the cover of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning by ringing the opening bell. However, the outlet did not specify how they obtained this information, stating only that they spoke to three people who were "not authorized" to do so.
A spokesperson for Time stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the magazine does not disclose its annual Person of the Year selection before it is published. The 2021 choice will be unveiled tomorrow morning.
Trump was widely considered a finalist for Time magazine's Person of the Year, alongside podcast host Joe Rogan and Elon Musk. The Times shortlist praised Trump for reshaping the American electorate in a stunning political comeback.
The list of notable individuals included Vice President Kamala Harris, Kate Middleton, Russian economist Yulia Navalnaya, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
In recent years, Time magazine has named Taylor Swift, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Elon Musk as the individuals, groups, or concepts that had the biggest impact on the world in the previous 12 months.
In 2016, Time magazine named Donald Trump as their Person of the Year, following his victory over Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. Trump considered the accolade a significant achievement and expressed gratitude for it.
In 2020, Time Magazine awarded Harris and President Biden for their victory over Trump and his running mate, former Vice President Mike Pence.
In 2015, Angela Merkel won the award that Trump was shortlisted for, and Trump predicted his loss and criticized Merkel.
Despite being the favorite, @TIME Magazine did not choose me as person of the year, instead selecting someone who is harming Germany.
The 2024 issue will mark Trump's second time accepting the Person of the Year award, but it will also be his third time on the cover this year. The magazine used a historic photo of Trump standing tall after the first assassination attempt for the cover of the July issue.
