Tom Homan, the incoming 'border czar,' previews 'thoroughly planned' deportation operations following the inauguration.
Trump has pledged to implement border and immigration policies on his first day in office.
Incoming "border czar" Tom Homan revealed the administration's plans to tackle the border crisis and illegal immigration with less than two days until President-elect Donald Trump returns to office.
On day one, the Trump administration plans to begin arresting illegal immigrants nationwide, with top officials declaring their intention to "unleash" Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On "Planet Chronicle Live" on Saturday, Homan stated that targeted enforcement operations would be carried out.
"ICE will have a clear plan in place when they go out, allowing them to locate the individuals they're looking for with precision. They will be able to identify the people in the household, including children, during this well-planned enforcement operation."
On Tuesday, the administration intends to conduct a massive raid in Chicago, focusing on individuals with criminal records.
From the start of his presidency, Trump has consistently stated his intention to secure the border and carry out a deportation operation. Consequences must be enforced for those who break our laws, as Homan emphasized to Mike Emanuel.
"President Trump has no patience and is determined to fulfill the mandate the American people gave him. We're going to start this operation."
ICE has over 7 million individuals on its non-detained docket, and the administration has pledged to deport them all, increase border security, and potentially arrest anyone in the US who is in the country illegally. Officials have stated that they will focus on those with criminal histories and convictions, but have not specified any other criteria for arrest.
We will achieve the safest border in my lifetime, surpassing the level set by President Trump during his first term, and this time, we will complete the task. Securing the border saves lives, as argued by Homan.
Homan discussed the anticipated opposition from "sanctuary" cities that do not permit state and local law enforcement to comply with ICE detainers, which entail notifying ICE when illegal immigrants are released from custody.
"What number of young women must be raped, murdered, and burned alive before sanctuary cities comprehend the importance of public safety? Homan posed the question. "As elected officials, your primary duty is to safeguard your community. Assist us. Join us at the table. We do not expect you to become immigration officers. Instead, we request your assistance in making your communities safer through the actions of those who are residing illegally."
