Tom Homan receives criticism from a Chicago resident: 'This place sucks right now!'
Tom Homan, the incoming 'border czar,' has excelled in listening to residents compared to the mayor.
One resident of Chicago is urging the incoming Trump administration to address the city's sanctuary status and reduce the influx of migrants.
On "The Ingraham Angle" Wednesday, resident Vashon Tuncle told Homan that he doesn't care what Brandon Johnson says and urged him to clean up Chicago, Ill.
"Tom Homan, we need you. This place is terrible, and as you said, our city is terrible because our governor and mayor are terrible. You were absolutely right about that."
Tuncle was informed by Homan that he values the assistance and promised to return to Chicago.
"I made a promise two weeks ago that I'd return, and I will fulfill that promise," Homan stated. "Upon the commencement of this operation, I will be in Chicago, and the ICE agents will be on the streets carrying out their duties."
The Trump administration has made addressing the border crisis a priority during their second term, with the use of mass deportations being a vocal solution to the influx of illegal immigrants.
During an event in December, Homan announced that he would begin deportations in Chicago, which would affect thousands of illegal migrants in the city and state.
"If the Chicago mayor refuses to assist, he can step aside. However, if he obstructs us and knowingly conceals an illegal alien, I will prosecute him."
Although public safety threats will be the priority, Homan stated that no one is off the table when it comes to deportations.
Despite the city spending $574.5 million on migrants and facing a $1 billion budget shortfall by the end of the year, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has pledged to stand firm against President-elect Trump's plan to deport undocumented immigrants.
"Tuncle claimed that migrants are taking all of the city's resources, with Brandon Johnson giving over half a billion dollars to illegal immigrants while American people are suffering on the streets."
"Not only does he want to protect illegals who are in Chicago, Ill. illegally, but he also wants to do so despite having a 14% approval rating as a mayor."
While seeking assistance from Homan, Tuncle commended Homan for outperforming state and local leaders in aiding Chicago residents.
"Your visit to Chicago and your interaction with the city's residents has been greatly appreciated. You have listened to us more than our own mayor, and in doing so, you have surpassed his efforts in this regard."
