'If a 9/11-style attack occurs, it is the responsibility of Kamala Harris,' Greg Abbott stated to Harris Faulkner.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and a top border patrol union representative criticized VP Kamala Harris for not reaching out to them to discuss the southern border.

On "Faulkner Focus", Monday, Abbott stated that everyone has seen the videotape where President Biden clearly assigned Kamala Harris the responsibility to manage the border.

Despite being the governor of a border state that is a hotspot for illegal crossings, Harris has not contacted Abbott, according to the latter. Abbott believes that the Biden-Harris administration has let down the American people, regardless of whether they refer to Harris as the "border czar."

Despite their different titles, the president and vice president share a fundamental responsibility to safeguard the United States from terrorists, as stated by Abbott.

During the Biden administration, 383 known terrorists have been apprehended at the border, according to the latest reports. However, this number does not include those who managed to evade capture.

According to Abbott, the number of terrorists in our country is unknown due to the failure of the Biden-Harris administration to secure the border.

"Kamala Harris is currently running for the presidency of the United States. Their primary responsibility is to safeguard our national security, particularly in matters related to national security. Kamala Harris has been an abject failure and has put Americans at risk. If we experience another 9/11-style attack, it will be on Kamala Harris's shoulders."

During her upcoming visit to Houston later this week, Harris has a chance for "renewal."

"A bill has been introduced by Ted Cruz in the United States Congress, titled "Justice for Jocelyn [Nungaray]," which mandates ICE to detain these individuals and prevent their release."

Harris should declare her support for the bill during her impending visit, as it is named after a 12-year-old Texas girl who was brutally murdered by two migrants last month.

The National Border Patrol Council VP, Jon Anfinsen, stated that Joe Biden, commonly known as the "border czar" and currently running for president, has not engaged with their organization.

Host Dana Perino was informed by him that they had never communicated with her.

The Biden administration is being blamed by Anfinsen for the increase in illegal crossings and misuse of the asylum system due to the termination of policies established by the Trump administration.

If the White House had not acted when Joe Biden's administration began, leaving Trump's policies in place, we wouldn't be in this situation. They essentially opened the door for the world to enter the southwest border illegally and abuse the asylum system, as stated.

He added that Border Patrol is having issues with retention and recruitment.

"According to Anfinsen on "America's Newsroom," the entire agency has been demoralized because the administration has demonstrated that they do not care about the Border Patrol or its mission, as evidenced by their actions over the past few years."

Harris' VP pick may not aid her in winning over voters on the border issue, according to Anfinsen.

"It's unclear if there is a suitable candidate to assist her, given her stance on the border."

In March 2021, Biden appointed Harris to head the administration's effort against migration, in response to criticism about the rising number of migrants just a few months into his presidency.

The Associated Press reported that Harris was appointed to manage diplomatic efforts in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Officials from the administration stated that Harris's primary responsibility would be to persuade these countries to strengthen their immigration laws and secure their borders. Additionally, Harris was tasked with developing a comprehensive plan to address the underlying reasons for migration from these countries.

During the announcement, Biden stated that the vice president had agreed to lead the diplomatic effort to collaborate with other nations in accepting returnees and improving migration enforcement at their borders, among other tasks.

The percentage of attempted crossings by migrants from the Northern Triangle has decreased significantly since 2021. In 2021, migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador accounted for 41% of all Border Patrol apprehensions. However, this number dropped to 22% in fiscal 2023, according to government statistics.

Although the number of Northern Triangle crossings decreased, the total number of illegal crossings reached an all-time high in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Migrants from all over the world made their way to the U.S. border, with thousands coming from China. Government data shows that more than 30,000 Chinese migrants were arrested for illegally crossing the southern border in 2023.
