The mother of four started a viral movement to give back to struggling mothers, and she deserved the purse.
A viral movement was sparked by a purse left in the baby aisle of Target, as shared by Cecily Bauchmann on 'Fox & Friends'.
After witnessing a video of a purse being left behind in the baby products section, a mother of four was motivated to give back.
Cecily Bauchmann inspired others to put a $100 gift card in a box of baby diapers and post it on their TikTok pages.
Bauchmann was already heading to Target to purchase something for his daughter when he considered giving another parent a $100 gift card, as he shared on "Fox & Friends," Wednesday.
Denaesha Gonzalez's TikTok post about a purse left behind with the caption "she deserved the purse" has received over 20 million views.
A mother who couldn't afford the purse may have left it in the aisle while purchasing items for her child.
Bauchmann placed a gift card and a handwritten note between a box of diapers, as inspired by Gonzalez's video, and encouraged others to follow suit.
"I placed it carefully between a box of diapers, hoping it would bring blessings."
When her family did not have much, the experience of Bauchmann was emotional.
"In 2015, I was in a situation with two children where we didn't have much money, and my kids' needs always came first."
She informed Ainsley Earhardt that this has become a trend or movement on its own.
A TikTok video by Bachmann revealed that she received a message from a woman who discovered a gift card and a handwritten note with her purchase and wished to know the sender's identity.
Since the trend started, it has been observed that individuals have been stealing gift cards by going through baby items.
Bauchmann hopes that this trend can be more organized to aid financially struggling mothers.
"We hope that the phrase "she deserved the purse" inspires an organization to address the issue, allowing us to take more effective action."
