The father of a Hamas hostage believes Israel needs Trump's help to finalize a cease-fire agreement.
With a deal in limbo, Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son is held in Gaza, believes Trump's leadership is 'desperately needed'.
The families of U.S. hostages held by Hamas highlighted President-elect Donald Trump's role in the cease-fire negotiations with Israel, stressing the importance of his leadership as they wait for the release of their loved ones.
During "Fox & Friends First," Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui was taken hostage, argued that Trump's "strength" is "desperately needed" to execute the deal after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the Israeli Cabinet's vote on the agreement would be delayed.
"President-elect Trump's strength and insistence were crucial for the hostage families and the people of Israel to get to the brink last night, as announced in the hostage deal, according to Dekel-Chen. Now, more than ever, they need Trump to pressure all sides to bring the deal to completion without domestic or manufacturing reasons."
"We are in limbo and extremely concerned that our government is not acting in good faith to make this happen and to put aside its narrow interests and political survival," he continued. "We need our friends in the White House, both those currently in office and those taking over on Monday."
Netanyahu's office stated that his Cabinet will not hold a meeting to vote on the Gaza cease-fire agreement until Hamas withdraws from its "last minute crisis." Netanyahu's office accused Hamas of attempting to renege on a portion of the agreement in an effort to obtain "last minute concessions."
Before the deal was reached, Trump repeatedly threatened Hamas with dire consequences if the hostages were not freed before his inauguration.
"According to Dekel-Chen, the statement by President-elect Trump served as a turning point. There is no doubt that the basic format of the plan has been in existence since at least late May, as President Biden mentioned last night. However, the negotiations had been stalled for months, and it was only after Trump's statement that the intermediaries, including Qatar, Egypt, and Israel, were rattled, particularly Hamas."
"The joint effort between the outgoing and incoming officials has shown the U.S. at its greatest, and President Trump has reinforced it, as have some of his incoming senior officials."
Although many praised Trump for the deal, Biden refused to answer a Planet Chronicle correspondent's question on Wednesday about whether he deserved credit for it.
At Wednesday afternoon's White House news conference, Biden was asked by Heinrich, "Who in history will be credited with this, Mr. President, you or Trump?"
"Is that a joke?" the president responded.
Biden walked away after denying that her question was in jest.
Ruby Chen, mother of hostage Itay Chen, thanked former Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., for his efforts in advocating for their release. She criticized the Biden administration's "rhetoric" on Fox & Friends.
""Chen stated on Thursday that the language emanating from the White House has been inadequate, and she believes that the type of rhetoric they should have been using a long time ago. There have been 12 American citizens kidnapped, with five of them being released," according to Brian Kilmeade."
"While many associate the hats of 47 with President Trump, for me, 47 holds a different meaning. It represents the number of U.S. citizens killed by Hamas, making it the largest single attack on U.S. citizens until the 1980s. I ask, where is the justice for those 47 people?"
On Monday, President-elect Trump invited the families of the hostages to his inauguration, and Chen expressed gratitude for the invitation.
