The family of a former football player who was killed in a New Orleans terror attack shares a message of faith and forgiveness.
Tiger Bech's aunt shares on 'Fox & Friends First' how faith is helping the family cope with their grief.
The family of Martin "Tiger" Bech, a former All-Ivy League kick returner for the Princeton University football team, is relying on faith to help them cope with the loss of their loved one in the New Orleans terror attack.
Cheri Bech stated on "Fox & Friends First" Friday that it was truly astonishing, despite the devastation, God's presence was evident.
On New Year's Day, a truck driver crashed into a crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street in Louisiana, killing at least 14 people, including a 27-year-old tiger who was visiting his home state to fish and hunt with college friends.
Before her interview with Planet Chronicle, Cheri revealed that Tiger's mother believed he had been saying his goodbyes for weeks leading up to the tragedy.
Ashley Strohmier, co-host, stated, "Discussing it sends shivers down my spine."
Cheri shared how her family's faith in God has been a source of strength during their grief journey.
On New Year's night, we learned of Tiger's news. My daughters and I were sitting at our dinner table when one of my daughters looked at me and said, "Mom, I forgive him," revealing that someone had killed her cousin.
"Our ability to forgive a heinous crime committed against innocent people stems from our faith in Jesus."
Cheri praised Tiger as an "incredible" brother, cousin, and son, while also supporting Jack's TCU football career as he prepares for the 2025 NFL Draft.
She said that Tiger worked tirelessly in New York all week to catch the latest flight on Friday night, arriving at 1:30 in the morning, and then waking up early to be the first one to watch Jack.
"We're all firm believers in Jesus and we're just holding Jesus' hand as we're going through this difficult journey."
Jack wrote in a social media post: "I love you always, brother! You inspire me every day, and now I get to be with you in every moment. This family is mine, and I'll take care of it."
Cheri disclosed a vital Bible verse that has sustained her faith in Jesus during her family's challenging journey.
Cheri quoted, "This scripture keeps appearing because God keeps appearing in remarkable ways. It's Isaiah 41:10, which says, 'Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.'"
She ended by delivering a message imbued with faith to the families of other victims of the attack.
"All the Bechs are praying for the families of the other victims. It's a challenging journey, but we can overcome it together. Our strong family bond will help us through it."
