The Democratic National Convention features prominent CNN and MSNBC personalities in key speaking positions.
Jack Schlossberg, a Kennedy scion and Vogue's political correspondent, also spoke at the convention.
This week's Democratic National Convention featured prominently MSNBC and CNN figures, including a "Republican" commentator who hosted one of the evenings.
On Tuesday night, during the Democratic National Convention, CNN's Ana Navarro, who is a co-host of "The View" and has long supported Democrats, served as the host and introduced Barack and Michelle Obama.
"Wow, what energy. What a moment," she exclaimed, praising Vice President Kamala Harris as a "joyful, optimistic leader."
Despite her claims of being a Republican, Navarro is frequently criticized by conservatives due to her left-wing views and subservient attitude towards Democrats. She once referred to Harris as "Auntie Kamala" and led a "Four more years" chant for Biden on "The View" in March, only to have Democrats remove him from the ticket four months later. Additionally, she worked for Biden's campaign in Florida in 2020, where he outperformed Trump by a larger margin than in 2016.
At the convention, Navarro was not the only "Never Trump" Republican to receive a prominent speaking role. Two other "Never Trump" Republicans also got plum speaking roles as a way of reaching out to disaffected voters in the middle and center-right.
On Wednesday night, Geoff Duncan, a former GOP lieutenant governor of Georgia and a CNN contributor, called on Republicans to "dump Trump" and described his party as a cult that was serving a "felonious thug." Duncan has been critical of Trump since the former president's attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
On Thursday night, former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., a CNN commentator and an outspoken critic of Trump for years, served on the January 6 House Select Committee and was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump over charges of inciting an insurrection.
"Kinzinger stated that he has learned about the Democratic Party and believes they are just as patriotic as Republicans. He emphasized that they love the country as much as Republicans and are equally eager to defend American values at home and abroad."
On Thursday, MSNBC's Al Sharpton, who hosts "PoliticsNation" on weekends and frequently appears on other shows on the progressive network, also spoke, introducing the "Central Park Five" and criticizing Trump's record on race.
During the DNC, the liberal networks, especially MSNBC, offered positive coverage throughout the week, with host Rachel Maddow confessing that her colleagues were enthusiastically applauding to vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz's speech.
Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy, briefly addressed the DNC on Tuesday. He is not only a member of the Kennedy dynasty but also serves as a "political correspondent" for Vogue.
