The continuing resolution is a complete and unmitigated disaster.
Hannity responds to the Republicans' proposal for financing the government.
In his "Hannity" monologue on Wednesday, Planet Chronicle host Sean Hannity criticized House Republicans for the stopgap funding bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown. The U.S. national debt, which measures the amount owed to creditors, had surpassed $36 trillion and was projected to reach $2 trillion by 2025, indicating no signs of slowing down.
Donald Trump may encounter another Biden-era predicament during his inauguration in January, possibly leading to a government shutdown.
The continuing resolution in Congress is a complete and unmitigated disaster. After this election, it is difficult to comprehend how elected officials can believe that the government, as usual, will continue to operate in the same way. This resolution will fund the government until March, but at what cost? Raising the debt ceiling is necessary, but at what cost? Why should Donald Trump have to raise the debt ceiling when it is Joe Biden's responsibility?
The bill, with over 1,500 pages, is filled with lavish spending on pet projects, including a new bridge in Baltimore, $100 billion for vague disaster relief programs, and $10 billion in farm subsidies. Additionally, the resolution creates a new Office of Telecommunications Spectrum Management and a new National Blockchain Deployment Advisory Committee, expanding the federal bureaucracy.
The spending bill includes the transfer of ownership of RFK Stadium from the federal government to Washington, D.C., as well as the provision of National Guard fighter jets to the state of Maryland. This raises the question: why are we giving our stadium to the far-left residents of the D.C. swamp? In other words, we, the American taxpayers, paid for this valuable asset, which is now being given away to a group that may not have our best interests at heart.
This bill exempts clothing and textile imports from Haiti from customs duties, but prohibits the import of lithium batteries from other countries. Additionally, the continuing resolution includes a pay increase for members of Congress, despite their relatively low workload of approximately 140 days per year.
As I've been saying, it is time to get back to constitutional order. Their work has been unacceptable, and our budget is out of control. The bureaucratic state is a nightmare, and the executive branch is rarely held in check.
