The cease-fire deal was secured due to Trump's influence, as stated by an ABC host on 'The View'.
On Wednesday, Biden evaded a query regarding the individual responsible for the agreement.
On Thursday, ABC News host Martha Raddatz stated that the cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas was influenced by President-elect Trump's team.
According to Raddatz, there are families in Tel Aviv who claim that Donald Trump helped resolve the issue, and they have been closely collaborating with him. However, Raddatz also praised the Biden administration for their efforts so far.
President-elect Trump's statement about there being "hell to pay" if hostages were not released and a cease-fire agreement was not reached before he took office seems to have had an impact. Whether it pushed Hamas over the line is uncertain, but it did have some effect. The two administrations working together also appeared to make a difference. President Biden later questioned the notion that President Trump was entirely responsible for the situation, but it is clear that his words had some impact.
In a speech on Wednesday, President Biden praised the cease-fire deal, but when Planet Chronicle senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich asked if Trump should be given credit for the deal, Biden hesitated.
Biden touted the cease-fire deal during his farewell address on Wednesday.
In his opening remarks, Biden announced that after eight months of negotiations, his administration had reached a cease-fire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, as he had detailed in May of this year.
On Wednesday, Israel and Hamas reached a cease-fire agreement that included the release of hostages. According to sources, a recent meeting between Trump's incoming Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu played a crucial role in the deal.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, has accused Hamas of breaking the deal and has postponed the Cabinet vote on the agreement indefinitely.
On Sunday, the agreement between Israel and Hamas is expected to be implemented, as stated by Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday.
Blinken stated that this week served as a reminder of the strength and significance of American leadership and diplomacy. For over 15 months, we have been working to negotiate a deal that would release hostages, end the fighting, and increase humanitarian aid to those in need. This would ultimately pave the way for a permanent cease-fire.
