The Biden administration is facing criticism over reports of an "amnesty" for asylum-seekers: "They are fully aware of their actions."

Since 2022, 350,000 asylum cases have been closed, and former border officials share their reactions to the report.

Officials who previously served in the administration cautioned on Monday that the current administration's actions are exacerbating the border crisis, as it has been reported that hundreds of thousands of migrants will be granted a form of amnesty.

"Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan on 'Fox & Friends First' stated that the executive action will be another affront to the American legal system as they have not taken any actions to slow it down."

Since 2022, over 350,000 asylum cases filed by migrants were closed by the U.S. government due to the applicants not having a criminal record or being deemed not a threat to the country.

The New York Post called the move "Biden's mass amnesty."

Plans are being finalized at the White House to implement a U.S.-Mexico border clampdown that will halt asylum requests and deny entry to migrants once the number of individuals encountered by American border officials exceeds a new daily limit, with President Biden expected to sign an executive order as early as Tuesday, according to four sources.

Biden can claim that he has taken all necessary measures to control the border numbers without Congress's assistance, despite his administration's recent efforts to reduce migration and expedite asylum processing.

The Biden administration is fully cognizant of the challenges surrounding asylum cases, as stated by Homan.

According to the Biden administration, based on immigration court data from the past decade, only one out of 10 individuals who claim asylum at the border will successfully win their case. The rest will be ordered to be removed because they either fail to appear in court or do not meet the criteria for asylum.

"This administration is aware of the consequences of removing or deporting individuals. They do not want that to happen. Instead, they prefer these individuals to remain illegally and wait for the next Census, which would benefit the Democrats. They have a plan and this is it."

On "Fox & Friends Weekend," Trump stated that he would order the largest-ever deportation if he wins the election in November.

"Biden has the power to close the border without any legislation. He could simply say the word and it would be done. I did the same thing. I said, "close the border," and it was done. I'm going to do a big deportation, the biggest ever. Eisenhower did the biggest, but this one will be even bigger. It's a very tough thing, but it needs to be done. The actions taken against our country are unthinkable."

Trump's stance on deportations was supported by Homan, who believed it was necessary to uphold the law and deter illegal immigration.

Homan stated that they must be removed because if they are not, what are we doing? There is a right way and a wrong way to enter this country. We should reward those who come the right way and punish those who come the wrong way.

Chris Clem, a retired Border Patrol agent, stated on "Fox & Friends" that the Biden administration should have addressed the issue earlier.

What is the reason for waiting until five minutes before the election, he inquired on Monday.

The border handling is a ‘betrayal’ by the Biden administration: Chris Clem

The anticipated executive order, according to Clem, is a temporary solution to a problem that was caused by this administration.

Clem stated that even though a target number of up to 4,000 a day is not entirely effective in achieving their goals, it is still a significant number, considering that it represents almost half a million people between now and the end of the election cycle.

Nearly 3.6 million immigration cases are currently backlogged at the end of Fiscal Year 2024, with immigration judges struggling to keep up with the influx of new cases.

Immigration judges are on track to handle more cases than ever before this year, but the backlog will continue to grow due to the slow pace of case completions, according to a TRAC report.
