Snoop Dogg's fans are prepared to put him in a shelter after he appeared at a Trump inauguration event, even though he previously depicted the president-elect being shot in a music video.
The "Gin and Juice" rapper was in trouble after he performed at the Crypto Ball in DC on Friday, a black-tie gala hosted by crypto currency organizations BTC Inc. and Stand With Crypto, which celebrated America's first "crypto president" Donald Trump. The event was hosted by incoming administration crypto czar David Sacks.
The rapper is visible in numerous social media videos performing on a turntable while rapping his iconic songs like "Drop it Like it’s Hot" and "Nothing but a ‘G’ Thang."
Numerous Snoop Dogg fans were enraged by his betrayal, with one angry liberal commenting, "It's time to discard @SnoopDogg with the rest of Trump's white supremacist, insurrectionist allies."
An Instagram video of Snoop Dogg's performance sparked outrage among social media users, who accused him of selling out and called the concert disgraceful.
Snoop Dogg's performance in "Doggfather's" has surprised many hip-hop observers, given his history of conflict with Trump and his supporters. In a 2017 music video for "Lavender" by the Canadian group BADBADNOTGOOD, Snoop Dogg was seen pointing a gun at a clown dressed as the president-elect.
The "Sensual Eruption" rapper threatened to "burn to a crisp" any "Uncle Tom sellout" who performed for Trump's inauguration in a video posted to his Instagram on January 10, 2017, nine days before he was sworn into office.
In a Jan. 2024 interview with The London Times, Snoop Dogg expressed his change of heart and stated that he has "nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump."
The rapper stated that he has only done great things for him and that he has not done anything wrong to him. He also mentioned that Michael "Harry-O" Harris, the co-founder of Death Row Records, was pardoned by Trump in January 2021 after serving 25 to life for drug trafficking and attempted murder.
While liberals were hesitant to accept Snoop Dogg into their ranks, conservatives embraced him with open arms, with Gen Z social media influencer and close friend to Barron Trump, Bou Loudon, welcoming him to the MAGA movement.
