Since the Dobbs decision, Democrats have been engaged in a deliberate campaign to weaken the Supreme Court, according to a CBS reporter.

Since its decision on presidential immunity in July, the Supreme Court has consistently received low approval ratings.

Jan Crawford, a CBS News reporter, claimed on Sunday that Senate Democrats are intentionally trying to discredit the Supreme Court through a deliberate strategy.

On "Face the Nation," Major Garrett discussed the court's low approval rating, and Crawford argued that the problems started before 2024.

"The Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, sparked a significant backlash, with Democrats attempting to undermine the Supreme Court's legitimacy through hearings and scandals, ultimately affecting public opinion."

The public believes this court is corrupt, but it is not. It is a conservative court with justices who have different views on interpreting the Constitution. They are in a struggle over law, not politics.

The court ruled in a 6-3 decision that ex-presidents, including President-elect Donald Trump, have substantial immunity from prosecution regarding official acts, as referenced by Crawford in the high-profile case on presidential immunity from earlier this summer.

She criticized Democratic opponents who "misrepresented" the case, even though the decision protects President Biden from prosecution.

Crawford stated that while public opinion polls show the court has taken a hit, this is not a new phenomenon. Other institutions also experience similar criticism. Despite this, the court believes that its public opinion remains higher than other institutions, such as the White House, Congress, and the news media.

In 2024, the Supreme Court's approval rating reached a record low of 38%, with a 60% disapproval rating, following the court's decision on presidential immunity.
