Silicon Valley influencer claims to never age.
Bryan Johnson's anti-aging strategy involves injecting his own blood with his son's youthful plasma.
Bryan Johnson, a tech billionaire and anti-aging influencer, stated simply that he does not believe he will die due to his lifestyle.
On Tuesday, Johnson was a guest on The Free Press' "Honestly" podcast with Bari Weiss, where he discussed his recent Netflix documentary "Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever," which showcased his rigorous approach to achieving immortality.
Johnson, who claims to be the healthiest person on record, stated that he does not believe he will die, but he was vague about living forever.
"Are you concerned about dying?" Weiss inquired.
"No," Johnson answered.
"Are you under the impression that you will never die?" Weiss inquired.
"Johnson replied, "While the concept of forever is beyond the human mind's comprehension, will we be able to extend life beyond our imagination? Yes. However, will it happen before my natural limit, which is estimated to be around 80-90 years if I maintain my health? The technology is advancing at a rapid pace, so the species may survive or die much sooner than my life expectancy.""
Johnson's routine involves retiring at 8:30 p.m., tracking nocturnal arousal, and transfusing his adolescent offspring's plasma into his veins.
Johnson explained that mankind's understanding of life is still incomplete when asked about being "missing the things that make life."
"Johnson started by suggesting a thought experiment, imagining that we were spending time with Homo erectus, who lived one million years ago. If we asked them about the purpose of life, they would likely respond with something related to hunting, gathering, and moving their tribe. They wouldn't be able to discuss concepts such as quantum mechanics, smartphones, antibiotics, the electromagnetic spectrum, or AI art because these ideas are beyond their understanding."
He continued, "They wouldn't be able to speak intelligently about what a beautiful life is. They're just so primitive in their thought processes. We are as primitive as Homo erectus as we are to AI. We are equally as primitive. We cannot say anything intelligent about the future anymore. So the idea that we somehow have mastered existence and that we know what the purpose of existence is so silly of a notion."
He emphasized the importance of remaining "incredibly humble" when considering existence and urged listeners to "dissolve our preconceived notions about what it means" when striving for this way of life.
Last year, Johnson shared his outlook on life with Planet Chronicle Digital, summarizing it in the phrase "stay alive."
"As we approach the level of artificial intelligence, the only threat is death. We must recognize that this era is different from the past, and we need to adapt our strategies as a species to navigate our current reality."
