San Francisco-sized land destroyed: Jesse Watters reports.
The fires have devastated 'some of the world's most stunning landscapes'
In L.A., the nightmare that no one can wake up from has resulted in at least 11 deaths and many missing people. A massive chunk of land, equivalent to San Francisco, has been destroyed.
The Pacific Palisades, with its stunning landscapes, resemble Hiroshima after the atomic bomb, leaving entire communities devastated. In Altadena, only a handful of homes remain in a neighborhood of 5,000 people.
Despite efforts to contain them, three significant fires remain uncontrolled. With the upcoming weekend forecast to bring strong Santa Ana winds, firefighters are preparing for another challenging battle. On the streets, the situation has escalated into a chaotic scene reminiscent of the Wild West. Looters on scooters are rampaging through homes, leaving destruction in their wake.
Gavin Newsom has stated that looting will not be tolerated in the affected communities, but only if the looting is less than $950.
One of the Winklevoss twins accused Newsom of tolerating looting for years and normalizing lawlessness, saying, "You and your party have been complicit in this behavior."
