Rubio urges Democrats to dismiss their pollsters for misjudging Hispanic voters: "They're clueless"
Rubio stated that Hispanic voters were not swayed by celebrity endorsements for Harris.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio stated that Democrats should dismiss their analysts and pollsters who inaccurately predicted the behavior of Hispanic and Latino voters, resulting in a lower-than-expected turnout for President-elect Trump.
"Rubio advised Democrats to dismiss their consultants, pollsters, and experts who offered guidance on winning the Hispanic vote, stating that they lack knowledge, on "America Reports" on Thursday."
"Hispanic voters are not in favor of illegal immigration, uncontrolled immigration, allowing criminals to roam our streets, high prices that make life unaffordable, and policies that send our jobs to other countries," he continued.
"In conclusion, Rubio stated that Hispanics and Hispanic Americans are Americans, and they share the same beliefs and feelings about these issues as all Americans. He believes this extends to other communities as well."
In the election, Hispanic and Latino voters helped Trump win, exceeding expectations with a higher-than-expected turnout for the GOP candidate. The New York Times reported that Trump gained 10 points in support from Hispanic-majority counties since 2020.
The Republicans emphasized the importance of Trump winning Miami-Dade County in Florida, a large Latino community, by a 2% margin over President Biden in 2020.
The Miami Cuban-American lawmaker stated that policy was the main concern for Hispanic voters, who prioritize the same issues as "everyday Americans." Rubio argued that Democrats were disconnected from the needs of Americans before the election, and that Hispanic and Latino voters were not swayed by endorsements from Puerto Rican celebrities like Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez when they were focused on their safety and financial stability.
Our identity is not defined by our skin color or ethnicity, but by our daily lifestyle, which can be challenging for everyday people. So, despite having great endorsements, Bad Bunny didn't deliver for Kamala Harris, and Jennifer Lopez didn't deliver for her because the average voter, even in the Hispanic community, may enjoy the musician's music but doesn't care about their political views because they don't have to pay the bills they have to pay.
"Some illegal migrants are not going to murder Bad Bunny, but they are causing concern in their communities. This proves that they are a threat, and it is being played out."
Rubio stated that migrants are not just watching a documentary about their experiences, but they are living it every day in their neighborhoods.
Trump is considering Rubio for Secretary of State as he looks to fill his Cabinet with capable individuals who will support his agenda in the coming years.
Rubio responded to the question about accepting a Cabinet position by stating that he would collaborate with the Trump administration in any role they deem suitable.
He stressed that he has not discussed a potential Cabinet position with Trump or his team.
"He informed Sandra Smith of "America Reports" that he was not being presumptuous in stating that they would choose him, stating that Donald Trump makes such decisions and has a track record of making good choices about the people who work for him."
