Republican influencer unveils strategy to turn New Jersey Republican after aiding Trump's victory in Pennsylvania.
Scott Presler, founder of Early Voting Action, intends to employ the "Pennsylvania model" to guide Republicans to success.
An influencer who supported President-elect Trump's win in Pennsylvania is now concentrating on New Jersey, a state he believes could turn red in future elections.
In November, Vice President Kamala Harris won New Jersey with 52% of the vote, defeating President-elect Donald Trump by just under six points in a state that was never considered a battleground. The gap between the two candidates was much tighter than in 2020, when President Biden carried the state by almost 16 points.
Some analysts now propose that New Jersey has shifted from a blue state to a swing state.
During a conversation with Planet Chronicle Digital, Early Vote Action founder Scott Presler expressed agreement with the sentiment.
He stated that they would utilize the Pennsylvania model of voter registration and apply the lessons learned to New Jersey, rather than creating a new approach. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of playing smart rather than working harder.
Presler stated that his work in Pennsylvania for the 2024 election aimed to improve infrastructure for Republicans, which had been lacking in previous election cycles. He disclosed that his efforts in the state centered on three key areas: education, ground game, and voter registration.
One of the biggest challenges we faced in the 2024 presidential race was convincing conservatives to support mail-in and early voting, which was crucial in our efforts to win Pennsylvania for Donald Trump.
Over the past four years, Republicans have faced challenges in closing the Democrats' voter registration edge. In 2020, Democrats held a 650,000-person advantage. However, this margin has decreased by 300,000 people today.
Presler stated that he is a numbers-oriented individual who views things from a mathematical perspective. He emphasized the importance of significant demographics that may be willing to support Trump.
"We visited truck stops, VFWs, American Legions, gun stores, and gun ranges to discuss mail-in voting with different communities. The Amish community may not show up on Election Day, and there are 800,000 veterans and 930,000 hunters in these areas."
To win Pennsylvania in 2024, the "secret sauce" is to stop the "proverbial bleeding" in urban areas and increase rural voter turnout, as Presler stated.
Presler is heading to the Sussex County Christmas Party in New Jersey, which is located near Pike County, a red rural Pennsylvania county. His organization aims to establish connections on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey border.
Presler has employed staff to register voters on the Wildwood boardwalk during spring and summer, not only in New Jersey but also in Pennsylvania.
"Our staff will assist New Jersey in 2025, and after we help New Jersey, we will request that New Jersey cross the border legally to aid Pennsylvania in the gubernatorial election in 2026," he stated.
During his 2024 campaign, President-elect Donald Trump held a rally in Wildwood, which has political significance despite being mocked by some.
"Wildwood is where Philly goes to the beach," he said.
Since 1992, New Jersey has consistently voted for Democratic presidential candidates, with the exception of 1988 when it supported Vice President George H. W. Bush over Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis.
