Report: Trump's return to the White House causing 'dread' and 'PTSD' among federal employees.
One federal worker told CNN that 'we are in a nightmarish world.'
A new report states that federal employees who lived through the first Trump administration are experiencing "PTSD" due to the president-elect's return to the White House.
René Marsh, a national correspondent on "CNN News Central," stated that federal employees are feeling "scared" and "anxious" about the possibility of Trump conducting mass firings at the beginning of his second term.
According to Marsh, a federal employee conveyed via text message last night that they are in a dystopian hellscape, and this mindset is shared by many of the two million federal workers who are anticipating Donald Trump's return to office.
During his campaign, Trump stated that he intended to revoke Schedule F, a 2020 order that would classify federal workers as at-will employees, making it simpler to dismiss them.
Ronald Sanders, a former Trump appointee, stated that the order could pose issues if it is utilized to uphold loyalty to the administration.
Sanders stated that the goal is to establish positions in career civil service for loyalists, both in the past and present.
A general feeling of dread among everyone is prevalent in the federal government, according to an Energy Department employee who spoke to CNN.
An employee at the Environmental Protection Agency stated that they were having discussions among themselves about whether they could handle a second round.
Trump could begin mass firings of perceived "disloyal" employees with the implementation of Schedule F, as claimed by Marsh.
Trump has fixated on the notion that federal workers are deep state agents working against him and his agenda, according to some employees who lived through his first administration, who claim to be suffering from PTSD.
In April, the Biden administration introduced a new rule that tightened the process of dismissing federal employees.
Biden viewed the rule as a step to combat corruption and partisan interference, allowing civil servants to concentrate on their primary duty of serving the American people.
The Office of Personnel Management, the government's human resources department, introduced new rules that prevent career civil servants from being reclassified as political appointees or as other at-will workers, who are more easily dismissed from their jobs.
The Trump transition team did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
