Report: Therapists recommend group crying, forest-bathing to manage stress on Trump Inauguration Day.
Mental health experts suggest various activities to aid liberals in overcoming their 'mourning' following another Trump presidency.
Some Americans are experiencing increased anxiety as President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration approaches, according to a new report.
On Monday, Time Magazine reported 11 "science-based" activities that can help individuals cope with their "feeling of despair" regarding the incoming administration.
Experts and therapists recommended various activities to help individuals cope with their anxiety over Trump's return and shift their focus.
A psychology expert and science director at the University of California at Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center, Emiliana Simon-Thomas, advised engaging in activities such as exercising, doing a creative task, performing an act of kindness, smiling at strangers, and attending a performance to improve mood, regain a sense of control, and feel more connected to others.
You might not be able to control the new administration's policies, but you can regain a sense of power by doing fifteen perfect-form jumping jacks.
Group crying was another recommendation in the report.
According to Time, while it may seem counterintuitive, it is healthy to shed a few tears on Inauguration Day, but it is important to do it with one caveat: not alone.
According to Simon-Thomas, the recovery from grief is significantly faster when someone has the opportunity to cry with the support of a trusted and caring person.
Other mental health experts recommended engaging in activities such as volunteering, journaling, creating a vision board, dancing, and practicing "forest bathing" to improve mental well-being.
"According to Time's report, therapist Anindita Bhaumik stated, "You will feel humbled when you realize that this mountain will always exist, while you, as a human being, are only temporary. Despite everything changing, nature remains constant.""
In a post on X, conservative activist and filmmaker Robby Starbuck criticized certain strategies mentioned in the story.
Avoiding spiraling on Inauguration Day can be achieved through 11 methods, including forest bathing and group crying, according to Starbucks.
He remarked that Democrats are strange and Time Magazine is a joke.
