'Rachel Zegler, the star of 'Snow White,' expresses regret for a controversial post wishing Trump supporters lack 'peace.''
The Disney actress wrote that she allowed her emotions to control her actions.
Rachel Zegler is expressing regret for her social media post criticizing President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters, wishing for peace to have never been disturbed.
"She wrote: "I apologize sincerely for the election post I shared on Instagram last week. My emotions got the better of me, causing hatred and anger to drive us further away from peace and understanding. I am sorry for contributing to the negative discourse.""
She acknowledged that it had been an emotional time and everyone had a right to their opinion, promising to contribute positively toward a better tomorrow.
Disney's Snow White actress, Zegler, posted a profane attack on Trump and his supporters on Instagram Stories following the election, expressing disgust with his victory over Kamala Harris and the country for voting him in.
"I am speechless amidst this. Four more years of hatred are pushing us towards a world I don't want to live in. This world will make it difficult for my daughter to grow up and have the life she desires. It will force her to have a child she doesn't want. It will make us fearful."
She also stated that the country had a "deep sickness" and it was "terrifying" how many people supported Trump's vision for the country. Trump won the Electoral College by a landslide, taking all battleground states, and is currently leading in the national popular vote.
Zegler wrote, "May Trump supporters and voters never know peace," and urged her supporters to abandon X, a social media platform owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
"F---Donald Trump," she added.
The release of "Snow White" in 2025 may be negatively impacted by Zegler's sharp comments, which prompted immediate backlash and speculation.
Zegler, 23, has always been vocal about her political views and urged voters to support Harris during the campaign, warning that they might lose their right to vote if they didn't. Recently, she posted "free Palestine" at the end of a post encouraging people to watch "Snow White," which some critics interpreted as an attack on her Israeli co-star, Gal Gadot.
Currently playing Juliet on Broadway, Zegler first gained recognition as Maria in the "West Side Story" remake in 2021.
Disney was contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for comment on Zegler's apology, but no response was received.
