Presidential showdown: Swing state voters' top issues
In the battleground state of Nevada, the cost of living, immigration, and abortion are among the top priorities for voters.
In Nevada, the main issues that concerned voters before the presidential election were the cost of living, immigration, and abortion.
"Nick said that he believes energy is also a significant issue, in addition to immigration. He added that people are becoming increasingly frustrated with the high cost of gas, which is currently $4 per gallon."
Bri, a realtor, agreed.
""The inflation is taking a toll on people, as I can see from my clients and other real estate buyers who are uncertain about the economy's future," she remarked during her morning walk in Henderson."
In a neck-and-neck race, both former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are competing in Nevada.
Joao, a Trump supporter, said illegal immigration is his top priority.
"Shut the frontier," Joao declared. "No one should enter unless they have proper legal authorization."
Donna, a protester outside a GOP Senate hopeful Sam Brown campaign event in Las Vegas, prioritized safeguarding legal abortion.
"Donna, who spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital, stated that while abortion is currently protected in Nevada, it remains a contentious issue when discussing it with others who are voting. They are particularly concerned about individuals like Sam Brown and their opposition to abortion and women's rights."
During his unsuccessful bid for state office in Texas in 2014, Brown supported the state's 20-week abortion ban. However, he has since stated that, although he is personally pro-life, he would oppose a federal abortion ban.
While abortion was a top issue for Jerrie, he also acknowledged that the rising cost of living was a significant concern for Clark County voters, who lean slightly more Democratic than the state average.
He said, "You'll get three items at the grocery store and there's $50 waiting for you."
Donna stated that regardless of whether it's tackling housing shortages, fighting against rising costs of living or safeguarding women's rights, one thing remains clear.
She stated that she intended to cast her vote for a candidate with a clear plan.
Nevada voters share their views on the issues that matter to them.
