Pornography ban and imprisonment loom for adults in Project 2025, warns ad campaign by adult film stars.
The initiative Project 2025 advocates for the prohibition of pornography.
A campaign worth $100,000 was announced by a group of adult film stars on porn sites, warning users about the potential ban of pornography and imprisonment of those who create it under Project 2025.
On Monday, 17 pornographic film actors publicly declared their opposition to the 2025 Mandate for Leadership put forth by conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation, in the lead-up to the presidential election.
"Hands Off My Porn" website urges conservatives not to criminalize porn and asserts, "Don't let them control what you watch!"
The "Hands Off My Porn" campaign will focus on swing states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada, with the aim of reaching younger men who are the biggest consumers of the porn industry, according to the Survey Center on American Life, as reported by the New York Times.
Siouxsie Q, a pornographic film actor, director, and producer who is part of the campaign, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that she has never witnessed a threat against their community as severe and real as Project 2025.
"The people behind Project 2025 are absolutely serious, and if they win, there will be no stopping them. Not only will it hurt actors, crew, directors and more, but it infringes on the rights of our fans to view consenting adults in content created by, and for, adults only. Our consumers and allies need to know that and know what they're voting on."
"The $22 million dollar roadmap for the next Trump Administration, which aims to criminalize pornography, was written by over 140 Trump Appointees and endorsed by over 100 Conservative Organizations."
The Heritage Foundation has consistently published its Mandate for Leadership series, which has been portrayed by many in the media as a right-wing agenda, but its founders and leaders insist that its product speaks for itself.
Trump has denied any ties to the Heritage project and stated that he has not read it, despite Democrats repeatedly claiming otherwise. In a July statement, he distanced himself from the proposed agenda by saying that some of the things being said were "absolutely ridiculous and abysmal."
While debating Vice President Kamala Harris, he emphasized his stance, saying, "I have no involvement in Project 2025. It's not something I've read or want to read on purpose. I have no intention of reading it."
"A group of individuals gathered and brainstormed some ideas, likely both good and bad. However, it ultimately has no impact, he stated. "I'm an open book, and everyone knows what I'll do," he added."
Project 2025's talking points regarding pornography are detailed on the "Hands Off My Porn" site.
The official Mandate for Leadership of Project 2025 declares that pornography is the widespread dissemination of transgender ideology and the sexualization of children.
"The agenda calls for pornography to be outlawed as it has no First Amendment protection, its distributors are child predators and women exploiters, and its product is addictive and psychologically destructive."
"The individuals responsible for producing, distributing, and facilitating the spread of it should be punished. Educators, public librarians, and technology firms who promote it should be classified as registered sex offenders, and telecommunications companies that enable its dissemination should be shut down."
The Heritage Foundation declined to comment on Planet Chronicle Digital's request.
