Oprah and Michelle Obama's DNC speech on wealth hypocrisy was criticized by Joe Rogan, who said, "Hey, ladies, you're rich as f---."
While Obama mentioned Winfrey's parents' suspicion of the wealthy, Winfrey discussed income inequality.
On Thursday, TV personality Oprah Winfrey and former first lady Michelle Obama were accused of brazen hypocrisy by podcaster Joe Rogan in their DNC speeches.
Oprah criticized former President Trump at the convention, emphasizing the importance of standing up to bullies in maintaining a democracy, and sharing her personal experiences with racism, sexism, income inequality, and division.
In 2000, Winfrey wrote a letter to Trump expressing her belief that he would make a good president, despite not being in the running for office. "What a team!" she exclaimed.
The former first lady shared how her mother instilled in her the values of hard work, humility, and decency, and added that her parents didn't aspire to wealth but rather were wary of those who took more than they needed. They believed that their children could only truly succeed if those around them were also able to do so.
On Thursday, during a discussion about how some notable individuals have criticized Trump in recent times, Rogan joked about the financial success of both women.
"Rogan said, "Oprah was discussing her and Trump's potential partnership, and now she's addressing the DNC about Trump's threat to democracy. Meanwhile, she's criticizing income inequality, saying, 'Hey lady, you're rich as f---,' which I find confusing.""
The podcaster added, "Michelle Obama's mother or grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed, like, you are worth so much money. That's so crazy. You did it on a civil servant's salary which is insane."
Oprah's denunciation of income inequality was criticized by many, including Rogan, who pointed out her enormous net worth of $3 billion.
Oprah, with her lavish lifestyle and numerous possessions, discussing income disparity, seems somewhat unusual.
The Trump War Room account shared a clip of Michelle Obama's speech and commented on her parents' suspicion of those who took more than they needed, despite her own net worth of $70 million and luxurious lifestyle in Martha's Vineyard.
