One battleground state voter has chosen their preferred presidential candidate on the economy.
Nevada voters who spoke with Planet Chronicle Digital are concerned about inflation.
In the Las Vegas area, soaring prices are putting a strain on people, making the economy a top concern as they head into the presidential election, several voters told Planet Chronicle Digital.
Jerrie from Henderson stated that if you go to the grocery store and get three items, there will be $50 waiting for you.
Although inflation decreased slightly in September, it is still above the Federal Reserve's target, according to a recent Labor Department report.
Nick said he feels the economic squeeze, even in retirement.
"Four years ago, my money went down less each month than it does now," he said. "When people have to give up things they enjoy, it's not a good quality of life."
In a close contest, both former President Trump and Vice President Harris are vying for victory in Nevada, with Trump aiming to become the first Republican since George W. Bush in 2004 to secure the state.
Asked which candidate would be better on the economy, locals were split.
"Jerrie stated, "Harris is the only one, and I'm a Republican. Although I voted for every Republican, I believe Trump is insane.""
""Trump cost our nation jobs and people died under COVID. However, President Biden and Vice President Harris came in and got us back on track faster than any other country in the world," Donna said in Las Vegas."
Nick disagreed, stating that Trump is superior to Harris in every aspect.
He stated that if individuals possess intelligence and common sense, they would be the ones to regain office.
Harris has proposed a new economic agenda aimed at lowering grocery and prescription drug prices, and providing first-time home buyers with $25,000 in down payment assistance. On Monday, she unveiled this agenda, which is specifically targeted at Black men.
Bri, a realtor, expressed her admiration for Harris's understanding of the real estate market and urged her to delve deeper into housing policies if she decides to pursue them.
""She has a better grasp on the economy, but a president can't do it alone," Bri said."
Melissa doubted Harris would be "good at anything."
"She said that her campaign is built on nothing but absurdity, and I don't see any of her policies benefiting us in any way."
