Obama advisor expresses worry over Biden's campaign as polls shift towards Trump.
If the White House doesn't change course, Democrats will likely lose, according to Marie Harf.
The former Obama administration official and Democrat cautioned the Biden campaign against dismissing the seriousness of dismal polling as mounting calls from Democrats intensify for Biden to withdraw from the race.
During "America's Newsroom," Marie Harf, a former State Department deputy spokesperson and Planet Chronicle contributor, explained why Biden's declining approval rating following his debate with Trump requires the Biden campaign to devise a strategy to reverse his political trajectory.
Harf expressed her concern that the Biden team lacks a plan to revive their campaign, that they may lose in November, and that they are disregarding voters' concerns about Biden's ability to win and govern for another four years, in an interview with Bill Hemmer on Wednesday.
"They're not taking this as seriously as they should."
The Cook Political Report reports that six key swing states have shifted in favor of Trump, posing challenges to Biden's re-election campaign.
Since Biden's poor debate performance last month, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada, which were initially predicted to be toss-up states, are now leaning towards the Republican party.
Nebraska, New Hampshire, and Minnesota were once strong Democrat states, but are now leaning Democrat.
The reason many Democrats are concerned about Joe Biden's campaign is because since the debate, his campaign has stated that it hasn't changed the state of the race. The polls are moving away from Biden, and the campaign has spent a lot of time attacking Democratic lawmakers and pundits, rather than focusing on how to turn the campaign around.
""The issue is that voters are having the conversation about the debate, not just pundits and members of Congress," she said."
Despite significant age-related concerns, many Democrats have urged Biden to abandon his 2024 presidential campaign following his debate with Trump.
Numerous House Democrats have urged Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, including Reps. Lloyd Doggett, Raúl Grijalva, Seth Moulton, Mike Quigley, Angie Craig, Adam Smith, and Mikie Sherrill.
Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet expressed concerns about the future of Biden's campaign, stating that Trump could win with a "landslide" victory due to the "disastrous" debate.
"I believe that Donald Trump will win this election with a landslide and take the Senate and House as well. This isn't about polling or politics for me, but rather a moral question about the future of our country."
Since the disastrous debate, the White House has not shown any evidence of having a plan to win the election, according to Bennet.
On Tuesday, congressional Democrats held a private meeting to discuss their concerns about Biden's political future, as internal party divisions persist.
