Nick Searcy, Reagan's co-star, reveals that Ronald Reagan was deeply in love with America.
Amazon's Blu-ray charts were topped by the movie 'Reagan'.
Nick Searcy, who portrays White House Chief of Staff James Baker in the film, states that the movie's success is due to its depiction of Ronald Reagan's deep-seated affection for America.
"Reagan was a popular president, and the movie's success, being number one on Amazon and in DVD sales, supports this, according to Searcy. While critics may not have loved Reagan, the audience scores show that the movie is well-liked, and it's gaining popularity."
The actor reflected on the parallels between Reagan and President-elect Donald Trump.
"Searcy stated that the assassination attempt on Reagan and the recent attempt on Trump are both fresh in our minds. He believes that the way Reagan was criticized and the movie was attacked by its critics is reminiscent of the disparity between how the mainstream media views Trump and how the majority of the country sees both men. Searcy thinks the similarities between them are quite striking."
Reagan's fight against communism as president is still ongoing, as Searcy pointed out.
"Ronald Reagan was deeply in love with America and made significant sacrifices to restore its greatness. The movie's resonance with many people is due to its being a love story, not just a history lesson. It is emotionally powerful and historically accurate."
The actor stated that the movie presents a "fully humanized" version of Reagan.
"Ronald Reagan was a man of great substance, both intellectually and emotionally. It is crucial to remember how much he loved America and how much he contributed to the country's greatness."
