New Jersey lawmaker advises caution on handling mysterious drones: "If they are determined to be of Iranian origin, they should be shot down."
According to Rep. Jeff Van Drew, he relied on "very high" and "reliable" sources while appearing on "Faulkner Focus."
According to New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew, sources with "very high qualifications" and "reliability" claim that the drones seen flying over New Jersey are coming from an Iranian "mothership" anchored off the East Coast of the United States.
The GOP lawmaker informed Planet Chronicle' Harris Faulkner that this is the genuine article.
"I am a member of the Transportation Committee and the Aviation Subcommittee, and I have had the opportunity to meet many people. According to highly reliable sources, I am about to reveal that Iran launched a mothership approximately a month ago, which carries drones. This mothership is currently located off the east coast of the United States of America."
Van Drew declined to reveal the identities of the sources from whom he obtained the information, invoking confidentiality.
He later added that Iran had struck a deal with China to acquire drones, motherships, and technology in order to proceed.
"The drones should be shot down, either by a crazy hobbyist or Iran, which is a possibility, and we are not getting the full deal while the military is on alert."
Officials and state residents are demanding answers on the mysterious development, but major agencies, including the FBI, remain puzzled by the ordeal. The FBI is currently investigating the sightings and has urged the public to report any drones they see.
News reports have featured footage of drones flying over homes at night, with flashing lights and no discernible purpose. These drones have been observed regularly in certain areas and have sometimes been seen traveling in groups. Some are reported to be as large as SUVs.
Drone sightings were also previously reported on Staten Island in New York.
Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey posted on X last Thursday that there is no known threat to the public at this time. State officials are taking the mystery drone sightings seriously.
Planet Chronicle' Landon Mion contributed to this report.
