Nancy Mace responds to AOC and critics of trans bathroom ban: "Height of hypocrisy"
After the SC lawmaker proposed a ban last week, AOC stated that the resolution is putting women at risk.
Nancy Mace, a South Carolina lawmaker, proposed a resolution to prohibit transgender women from utilizing women's restrooms at the U.S. Capitol, which was met with criticism from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York representative.
Mace retaliated after a progressive Democrat accused him and his supporters of putting women and girls at risk.
"On "Fox & Friends Weekend," Sunday, Mace stated, "It's truly hypocritical. The Democrats' claim to protect women is nothing but a lie. They've never truly cared about women's safety, and their policies will only put more women and girls at risk.""
Mace, a survivor of rape and sexual abuse, introduced a resolution last week. She stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that protecting women and opposing the Left's erasure of biological women is crucial, starting with the nation's Capitol.
The measure prohibits "members, officers, and employees of the House from using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex, and for other purposes," as previewed by Planet Chronicle Digital.
Mace expressed his disbelief that women who have experienced abuse should be required to strip or share a bathroom with a man, stating this to co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy.
In January, Congress will welcome its first openly transgender lawmaker, Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del.
The House sergeant at arms would be responsible for enforcing the rule under Mace's legislation.
On Capitol Hill, Wednesday, AOC strongly condemned the legislation while addressing reporters.
Nancy Mace and Speaker Johnson's actions are putting all women and girls at risk. If asked about their plan to enforce it, they won't provide an answer.
"The result of this is that women and girls are more likely to be assaulted, as people will want to check their private parts to determine their gender identity and what they are doing. This behavior is disgusting."
Mace was accused by a New York lawmaker of wanting women to "drop trow" in order to enforce a resolution.
Mace rejected the notion that AOC was telling the truth, stating, "No one has ever said that women should drop trow. That's really disgusting."
After announcing the resolution, Mace has faced numerous threats and public confrontations.
"In 2024, I will have to appear on TV and social media to clarify to the radical left that men should not be permitted in women's restrooms, and women should not be required to disrobe in front of men."
Planet Chronicle' Elizabeth Elkind and Charles Creitz contributed to this report.
