MSNBC questioned Trump Sr.'s injury after shooting, prompting Trump Jr. to respond: "They can't help themselves."
The former president's son claims on 'Fox & Friends' that 'Trump Derangement Syndrome is a real condition.'
MSNBC commentators questioned the validity of the Trump assassination attempt and the seriousness of his father's injury, prompting a response from Donald Trump Jr.
"Fox & Friends" host said on Wednesday, "He wasn't shot in the face enough for them, it wasn't enough?" He added, "That's the point. They can't help themselves. The Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. It's so asinine that they could say that... You see the photograph at the time. There's blood everywhere."
MSNBC host Ari Melber described Trump's ear bandage as a "spectacle" following his first public appearance since the assassination attempt at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
"Melber stated that the candidate, who has admitted to being obsessed with various spectacles, is the focus of a political quest to exploit Donald Trump's injury. Whether this is done by the candidate himself or his allies and Republicans, the extent to which their credibility is overextended will be determined by the voters."
MSNBC political analyst Michael Steele raised doubts about the severity of Trump's injury, pointing to uncertainties about the bandage.
"The man with the wounded ear entered the hall, but there were no answers to the questions surrounding it."
After a heated argument with an MSNBC reporter, Trump Jr. made his comments before his family was set to formally support his father's nomination in Florida.
"He remembered that they couldn't stop, just like how they did with Russia. They continued even when they knew it was wrong. It was impeachment one, impeachment two, and now they're trying to bankrupt our family and take away my father's businesses."
"If that doesn't work, they tried to imprison him," he said. "And, of course, when someone has spent years calling you Hitler and a fascist, what do you expect?"
During a brief conversation at the RNC on Monday, Trump Jr. instructed MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff to leave the area after being questioned about the ex-president's immigration policies.
During his four years in office, he boasted about his father's achievements, but when asked about Trump's divisiveness, he dismissed the question and accused the media of stirring up "divisiveness" around him.
Soboroff, author of "Separated: Inside an American Tragedy," questioned Trump Jr. about whether the former president planned to implement family separations as part of his immigration policy if elected, and disputed his claim that it occurred under Obama.
Trump Jr. retorted, "MSDNC, you clowns, I expect nothing less from you today," using the nickname his father frequently employed for the liberal network.
"Despite waiting 48 hours, you were still eager to speak, and your lies and nonsense were unbearable, so just leave," he said, dismissing the reporter and focusing on the convention stage.
