In an exclusive interview on 'Fox & Friends', former first lady Melania Trump shared her thoughts.
In an exclusive interview on "Fox & Friends," former first lady Melania Trump shared how she learned about the two attempts on her husband's life.
She said she ran to the TV, rewound it, and watched the assassination attempt on former President Trump, which was live-streamed at a mid-July rally in Butler, Pa.
She didn't witness the event live, but three minutes later, she saw it and realized it was only then that nobody knew what had happened.
A former president was targeted by a would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired several shots from a building rooftop about 130 yards away. The countersniper eventually shot and killed Crooks.
The bullets that hit Trump's ear, killed former Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore, and injured rallygoers David Dutch and James Copenhaven.
On Sept. 15, while her husband was golfing at his club in West Palm Beach, Melania Trump was in New York City when the second assassination attempt occurred.
"I saw it on TV and immediately called again because Secret Service were amazing. The team was incredible, and both events were miracles. July 13th was a miracle, and he could not have been with us. How did that happen?"
Melania Trump, the former first lady, has been sharing videos on social media in anticipation of her memoir's release, titled "Melania," which will be available in early October.
She called for more answers after her husband was nearly killed in a Sept. 10 video posted to X, formerly Twitter.
""Why didn't law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?" she wondered, implying that there may be more to the story and that the truth needs to be uncovered."
A public hearing by the bipartisan Trump assassination attempt task force will take place on Thursday, focusing on the security lapses that nearly resulted in the assassination of a former president and current presidential candidate.
On Thursday morning, "Fox & Friends" will feature Melania Trump's complete interview.
