On Sunday, Mark Ruffalo, an actor and supporter of the Harris-Walz campaign, admitted that the Democrats had suffered a significant loss.

During a 20-minute speech at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California’s Bill of Rights Awards, Ruffalo admitted that they got their a--es kicked. He explained that although what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, sometimes you need to spend time in bed before it happens. Ruffalo acknowledged that it was difficult to come to the event, honestly.

Your presence here indicates the importance of the values we hold dear in life, and I want to acknowledge your emotions, including grief and fear, as I share my own.

"A significant loss has affected us deeply, as it pertains to our long-term aspirations and goals."

During the campaign, Ruffalo, known for playing "The Hulk" in Marvel's "Avengers," supported Vice President Kamala Harris. He appeared in a campaign ad alongside his fellow cast members, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, and Paul Bettany.

Ruffalo, like many other famous Hollywood figures, has expressed disappointment over Harris' defeat last week, as Trump won the election with a landslide victory in battleground states and secured the popular vote.

The GOP won the Senate majority and is expected to maintain the House majority, with Trump's second presidential election still pending in some congressional races.

After the election, Harris phoned Trump to congratulate him and later gave a concession speech at her alma mater, Howard University.

After the Republicans' victory, several other celebrities, including those who supported Harris, began to question their beliefs and consider alternative political parties. Additionally, "The Big Short" director Adam McKay, a progressive, announced that he was leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Green Party or Working Class Families Party.

The Republican Party's victory has prompted discussions within the Democratic Party to open an autopsy on the election results, particularly since a Republican has not won both the popular vote and the electoral college in over 20 years.

The Democratic Party was accused of abandoning the working class by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

Ruffalo elaborated that "doing something is what counteracts hopelessness."

Ruffalo stated, "We are connected to those who wish us harm, and they are related to us as well. We are all part of the same family, but they have strayed and forgotten their identity."

Despair and demoralization have been frequent experiences for him on his journey, and the recurring message he receives is that if you're losing hope, you're not trying hard enough and you're not doing enough. However, he found that taking action is the key to overcoming despair.
