Maher criticizes left for continuing to blame right after election: "Take a week to reflect on mistakes"
Maher criticized fellow liberals for wearing "Queers for Palestine" t-shirts and masks two years after the pandemic ended.
Bill Maher, the host of "Real Time," criticized Democrats for their poor performance in the 2024 election and accused them of digging themselves deeper into a hole they were already in.
"Maher advised doubling down on the original mistake in his closing monologue on Friday night. Even those on the losing side who have made a concession that liberals should refrain from calling Trump voters stupid do so with an unspoken assumption that they are indeed stupid. However, Maher has some bad news for them: they do not have a monopoly on stupidity."
"Two years after the pandemic ended, you still wear 'Queers for Palestine' t-shirts and masks. You can't define a woman as 'person who menstruates.' You're the teachers' union education party and you've turned schools and colleges into a joke. You recently lost a crazy contest to an actual crazy person," Maher said.
A liberal comedian raised concerns about polling that indicated President Biden was perceived as "too liberal" and advised Vice President Kamala Harris to "distance herself" from far-left policies.
"It's astonishing that those who view everything through the lens of race and gender see their election loss as a result of racism and sexism. If only we weren't so unenlightened, we would have elected a Black president by now. Oh, wait, we did. And sexism? Hillary got 3 million more votes than Trump. Democrats run for office as if the voters don't live here, as if they don't go to the grocery store and Starbucks and the office, but they do. They live here, and they actually see women and people of color, and it doesn't look like some patriarchal racist nightmare."
The speaker stated that Democrats have become like a royal family that, due to too much inbreeding, has produced offspring with mental disabilities. He also pointed out that the same thing can happen to ideas if they are conceived in an environment of intellectual incest. He urged people to stop shouting at each other and instead engage in meaningful conversations. Instead of forcing others to conform to a certain program, he suggested creating a program that is worth joining.
Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., sparked controversy when he stated that he didn't want his daughters competing against biological male athletes in sports, and his campaign manager resigned in protest.
He encapsulated the narrative as the left's "quintessential predicament."
"Let that person go! Marginalize that guy!" Maher exclaimed. "It's crucial for America to have a center-left party that's competitive, and the first step toward achieving this is to make voters not want to punch you in the face."
Maher stated that he is furious with the Democrats because as a voter, the issues that mattered to him were democracy and the environment. However, he believes that the Democrats have failed to defend these issues, and he blames them for their loss of power, including the House, Senate, White House, and Supreme Court. As a result, Maher believes that the Democrats have left the country vulnerable and open to exploitation.
