Last summer, Rogan predicted a potential wildfire that could devastate Los Angeles and reach the ocean.
One firefighter told Rogan that there is nothing they can do to stop the wildfire in Los Angeles.
A clip of Joe Rogan predicting a wildfire in Los Angeles last summer has resurfaced as one burns thousands of acres across L.A. County.
In a July podcast episode with comic Sam Morril, Rogan discussed how an L.A. firefighter had informed him that, given the right circumstances, a wildfire could completely destroy the area.
The host stated, "One day, it will be the perfect wind, and fire will ignite in the right location, burning through L.A. all the way to the ocean. There's nothing we can do to stop it," while wearing a t-shirt featuring the Los Angeles City Fire Department logo.
In recent days, firefighters in the nation's second-largest city and its surrounding areas have been battling several devastating wildfires that have resulted in the deaths of five individuals, the destruction of thousands of homes and other structures, and the displacement of over 100,000 people.
On Wednesday, Sheila Kelliher, a Los Angeles Fire Department captain, described the scorched hillsides to Planet Chronicle as "apocalyptic" and "dramatic."
Kelliher stated that she observed winds ranging from 70 to 100 miles per hour fanning the flames in the region.
In his July video, Rogan emphasized that a city-destroying inferno is dependent on the wind, according to his fire department source. He pointed out that so far, residents have been fortunate.
He said, 'Yeah, we just get lucky. We get lucky with the wind, but if it hits the wrong way, it's just going to burn straight through L.A.'
Rogan repeated the firefighter's statement that they wouldn't be able to prevent it, saying, "The first responder said, 'And there’s not going to be a thing we can do about it.'"
The host stated that the fires are so large, with thousands of acres burning simultaneously and 40 mile-an-hour winds.
In the July episode, Rogan mentioned that one of the reasons he moved from California to Texas in 2020 was the fear of another wildfire.
"Rogan shared with Morril that he had been evacuated three times from his house due to fires, with the last evacuation occurring when two houses in front of his own burned to the ground."
