Kamala Harris' remark to 'The View' was deemed "upsetting and insulting" by a border sheriff.
Arizona Sheriff Responds to Harris's Statement About Past Four Years
A sheriff from Arizona has criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for stating on "The View" that she would not alter any of the policies implemented since President Biden assumed office.
Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels stated on "America's Newsroom" Monday that hearing such statements is upsetting and insulting because they come after three and a half years of witnessing the worst, including tragedy and the death of children.
The number of encounters at the Southwest border has increased by 241.5% under the Biden-Harris administration compared to the Trump administration.
In a recent Univision townhall, Harris defended her border record.
"As the top law enforcement officer in California, a border state, I have tackled transnational criminal organizations that smuggle guns, drugs, and people across the border. I have successfully prosecuted these organizations, and my record speaks for itself in terms of my unwavering commitment to securing our borders."
Dannels stated that he and others at the border have been "ignored and forsaken" by the Biden-Harris administration.
Dannels stated, "She inquired as to the reason, and I elucidated the matter to her. We have extended invitations, but they have not been honored as sheriffs. Now, she remarks that she merely suggests we could improve, implying something similar."
"She recently stated in a media interview that she wouldn't alter anything Biden did, which is an affront to us on the border. It's truly disheartening."
Dannels stated that Trump's actions regarding border security were effective.
The Border Patrol Union endorsed former President Trump, and Dannels said he is not surprised.
"No border agent has approached me to report that the border is secure. Instead, their morale is low and they are searching for hope, which they have found in President Trump."
At a rally in Arizona on Sunday, Trump announced that he was "pleased to receive the endorsement" of the National Border Patrol Council.
"Thousands of people said it was unanimous, and Trump considered it a great honor."
Paul Perez, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, was invited onto the stage by him.
Perez said he had a message for everyone in the crowd.
If Harris wins the election, every city and community in the country will face danger, as the millions of unvetted people she has allowed into the country will continue to commit crimes, putting the country at risk.
"One man alone can solve that issue. That man is Donald J. Trump, who has consistently supported the individuals who safeguard our border and risk their lives for our nation."
