Kamala Harris: Media should hold her accountable, says JD Vance
JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential candidate, is again urging the media to hold Kamala Harris accountable for her record, arguing that she has been receiving a "honeymoon" from criticism.
At a Wednesday press conference in Detroit, Michigan, Vance urged the media to encourage Harris to act like a presidential candidate by addressing reporters.
He stated that you guys must cease providing her with a honeymoon and stop pretending she is someone she is not until she does.
Harris' past comments on policing and her role in stopping migration at the southern border were criticized by Vance.
The media's positive coverage of a person who flees from the American public is shameful. This is not only shameful for Kamala Harris, but it is becoming increasingly so for the media as well.
Vance previously scolded the media about their coverage of Harris while speaking to a press gaggle on his plane ahead of a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Ohio senator took a question about former President Trump not appearing on the campaign trail until Friday, saying he and Trump take a "divide and conquer" approach.
He shifted his focus to attacking Harris, who has not given a formal interview or press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee more than two weeks ago.
""Kamala Harris has been a presumptive Democrat nominee for 16 days without answering a single real question from a reporter. It's shameful for her and the media to take a basement strategy of running from reporters instead of getting in front of them and answering tough questions about her record and letting the American people know who she is," he said."
Vance stated that he and Trump handle both hostile and non-hostile questions because they value the American people.
Since she became the 2024 ticket holder, Harris has avoided the press and received highly positive media coverage.
