In a new interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Judge Judy Sheindlin emphasized the importance of parents laying down the law at home, just as she does in the courtroom.

Judy Sheindlin, the star of "Judge Judy" for 25 years and the host of "Judy Justice" on Amazon Freevee, emphasized the importance of not being a "wishy-washy" parent and ensuring that children understand what is expected of them.

When it comes to tricky teenagers, Sheindlin advised parents to strictly enforce curfews.

If parents want to maintain respect from their children, they should avoid being their "friends."

She advised parents not to be friends with their children, according to Planet Chronicle Digital.

"Children need rules, just as adults do, and it's because of blurred rules that the country is in its current state. Babies feel close and secure in the womb, which is why newborns' parents are taught how to swaddle them tightly. As they grow, the blanket is loosened to allow them to develop their wings, crawling and walking. However, basic rules should never be abandoned."

Parents were reminded by the well-known TV judge that children mimic what they observe at home.

"As a parent, it is your responsibility to instill in your children the values of being responsible, law-abiding, productive citizens, mates, and friends. This is not the responsibility of schools, communities, or anyone else. Children learn morality by emulating their parents, so if you are amoral, that is what your children will emulate. Therefore, it is crucial for parents to take this responsibility seriously and teach their children the necessary values."

Even little white lies should be avoided, she warned.

"Parents want their children to become successful human beings, but if they teach them to lie, they will grow up to be dishonest individuals."

Adam Levy, who is a judge on "Tribunal Justice" and also serves as an executive producer, said that his mother's no-nonsense attitude helped him become a better judge. He also admitted that he could never get away with a lie in her presence.

"He became the cross-examiner he is today because of her, he told Planet Chronicle Digital. Growing up, whenever he was a little off, if he told a lie or tried to cover something up because he did something wrong, she always knew. She knew. It wasn't just that she had a sixth sense, which she did, but she was able to ask a series of questions that ultimately he was unable to answer."

"I would become disoriented, and she recognized that I was being dishonest," he stated. "I realized that I was lying. Over the past 25 years, I have learned to express this in my own unique way. Additionally, she taught me that the person who is best prepared will control the courtroom. This usually involves taking control of one's space within the courtroom. And that's what I do."

"You must set an example for your children by teaching them how to do the right thing. As I always tell my kids, doing the right thing doesn't guarantee a positive outcome, but doing the wrong thing will inevitably lead to negative consequences. And they will remember it."

"Judy Justice," which has just won its second Daytime Emmy for "Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program," will premiere with four new episodes on Prime Video and Amazon Freevee on Monday, August 5. An all-new episode will air each weekday through October 25. Additionally, season 2 episodes of "Tribunal Justice" are expected to start streaming on Amazon Freevee, although a release date has not yet been announced by the company.

Sheindlin described her day-to-day as "boring" when asked about her activities outside of court.

"She informed Fox Digital that she only works out on the treadmill for a short time, as she is trying to get back into exercise after her physical therapist left due to a crummy shoulder. She is currently sitting and conversing with an ice pack on her shoulder."

"When I'm not working, I'm in a sort of vegetative state," she joked. "One day blends into the next."

She stated that her large family keeps her "extremely occupied."
