This week, Joe Rogan, a podcaster, predicted that a Kamala Harris presidency would likely result in stricter restrictions on online speech.

"Rogan believes that if Kamala Harris becomes president, the government will tighten its grip even more, and attempt to control other things in a similar manner to how they tried with Twitter."

Elon Musk posted a clip on X and stated, "Joe Rogan is absolutely right."

In a recent episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," Shawn Ryan, a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor, and host Joe Rogan talked about censorship on social media platforms.

Rogan raised concerns about the "various unfounded statements" being made by the Harris campaign, particularly vice presidential nominee Tim Walz's assertion that the First Amendment does not apply to misinformation.

"In a late 2022 MSNBC interview, Walz stated that there is no assurance of free speech for misinformation or hate speech, particularly in relation to our democracy. He emphasized the importance of truth-telling, disclosing voting locations, and identifying eligible voters."

In 2017, the Supreme Court confirmed that there is no exception to the First Amendment for hate speech, even though deliberate misinformation can sometimes be punishable under the Constitution.

Rogan disagreed with Walz's sentiment.

"Rogan stated that the objective of the First Amendment is to allow individuals to express incorrect opinions, which are then corrected by experts."

Ryan added, "The misinformation — it's all opinion."

"So much of what we've been told about the pandemic turns out to be false. What about the idea that masks don't work? You'd be shouted down for saying that, but the truth is, they don't work."

Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from the Harris campaign when requested for a comment.
