Jean-Pierre expressed frustration over a question about the potential "weirdness" between Harris and Biden, stating, "I don't even understand."
Peter Doocy, a senior White House correspondent for Planet Chronicle, reported that Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, refused to address the question's premise.
On Tuesday, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, objected to Peter Doocy's query from Planet Chronicle about the awkwardness of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' recent lunch.
After a series of other questions, Doocy asked, "How awkward was it for President Biden and Vice President Harris to have a private lunch a week after the election?"
Jean-Pierre responded, "I don't understand. Why would it be awkward?"
Doocy stated, "The president was pushed out due to her, and she kept him at a distance, resulting in her loss. Now, she has returned."
Jean-Pierre confirmed to Doocy that the president and vice president maintain a good relationship, stating that they frequently have lunches together and engage in regular conversations.
"Why would you call it awkward?" she asked again.
Doocy replied, "There's no weirdness about the way things have unfolded since the last-."
Did you observe Biden and Harris standing together in honor of veterans on the holiday Monday?
"The press secretary stated, "I won't take the question's premise. Instead, I'll say that the president and vice president had lunch today, as they often do. They communicate regularly and discussed the last 70 days of this administration's importance in achieving things for the American people. Their focus is on this.""
After President-elect Trump's victory, some of Harris' supporters are expressing frustration that Biden's decision to continue his re-election campaign until the summer sealed the Democrats' surrender of the White House.
During the 100-day Harris-Walz campaign, Biden made mistakes that may have harmed her chances of winning the election, despite campaigning for and endorsing her this cycle.
On Wednesday at 11 a.m., Biden and Trump will meet at the White House. Doocy inquired about whether the vice president was invited, but Jean-Pierre replied, "It's customary for the incoming president and the current president to have a discussion in the Oval Office."
Doocy inquired about the possibility of Biden requesting a pardon for his son Hunter from Trump, despite his own pledge not to grant one.
She stated that she had nothing more to add about the topic and that she wouldn't delve further into it. She emphasized that she had already made her stance clear and that the president had been clear as well when asked the same question.
