James Carville advises Kamala Harris to address her past far-left policies, stating that a poor response could significantly harm her image.
On Thursday, Dana Bash of CNN will interview Governor Tim Walz and Harris.
On his "Politics War Room" podcast on Thursday, James Carville, a democratic strategist, stated that Vice President Kamala Harris should clarify her past far-left views during her initial interview as a presidential candidate.
"Carville stated that it is a fact that anyone who listens to a single thing the identity left ever said will regret it. He added that she has said some things she will have to answer for, but he believes she can do it. However, he warned that a bad answer would hurt her a lot. Despite this, Carville emphasized that she must answer the question."
During her failed presidential campaign in 2019, Harris frequently changed her stance on various far-left issues, including immigration, fracking, and private health insurance.
At the DNC, Harris did not address her 2019 campaign, as noted by her co-host Al Hunt.
Hunt stated that she no longer holds some of the left-wing positions she previously held, including doing away with private health insurance, minimal border control, and banning fracking. She made it clear that she now supports a bipartisan, tough border bill and is for expanding the Affordable Healthcare Act rather than Medicare for all. However, she needs to explain these changes.
He stated that Harris had gained valuable experience as vice president and her policies were now more practical, which she would have the chance to discuss in her interview on Thursday.
Since emerging as the Democratic White House candidate last month, Harris has not given a solo interview with a reporter. In their first joint interview as a ticket, Harris and Walz are speaking with CNN's Dana Bash.
Carville has frequently warned about the dangers of far-left policies and the Democratic Party's messaging, previously stating that "preachy females" were responsible for the party's communication issues and the lack of male support.
"Carville expressed his suspicion that there are too many preachy females who give out feminine messages, such as "Don't drink beer," "Don't watch football," and "Don't eat hamburgers." He argued that this message is not good for people and that the focus on women and women of color in the election is misguided since 48 percent of voters are males."
Carville stated that the left was responsible for President Biden's inaction on the border during the early stages of his presidency.
""The Western left is consistently wrong, as evidenced by their failure to implement policies and their tendency to take and give away things," Carville stated during Donny Deutsch's "On Brand" podcast in June."
