In an MSNBC interview, RFK Jr.'s sister "totally disavows" him, accusing him of "setting fire" to their father's memory.
On Friday, Trump received an endorsement from Kennedy who had previously dropped out of the race.
On Monday, Kerry Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s sister, publicly distanced herself from her brother in an interview with Joy Reid on MSNBC.
In an interview, she stated that she completely disavows and separates herself from her brother, Bobby Kennedy, and his decision to endorse former President Trump, which she finds flagrant, inexplicable, and disrespectful to their father's memory.
"I love Bobby and have tremendous respect for his work, but on this issue, he's wrong. It's crucial for people to understand that the Kennedy family endorses Harris."
On Sunday, Kennedy, who withdrew from the campaign, spoke about the "unity government" he is supporting alongside Trump. He stated that the former president agreed to address the key issues that were the focus of the independent candidate's campaign, including ending the war in Ukraine, combating censorship, and improving children's health in the U.S.
Kerry Kennedy stated that Trump's "disrespectful mocking of human rights for those in pain globally" would have been repugnant to her father.
She stated that if her father were alive today, he would despise almost everything about Donald Trump, including his lying, selfishness, racism, cynicism, hatred, fascist sympathies, deliberate misinformation about vaccines, criminal felony convictions, rape of E. Jean Carrol, contempt for the poor and suffering, ethics, and democracy.
RFK Jr. has addressed criticism from his wife and other Kennedy family members.
My family is at the heart of the Democratic Party, with members of my family working in the Biden administration. Biden has a bust of my father in the Oval Office and has been a family friend for many years.
"I understand that my family is troubled by my decisions, but I love them and feel that we were raised in a milieu where we were encouraged to debate each other passionately about things while still loving each other. They are free to take their positions on these issues, and many members of my family are working at my campaign and supporting me."
